Cobb👍 VS. Perrin👎Shift Stop Install! 2022 Subaru WRX

The Cobb shift stop comes with two sets of nuts to make adjusting easy!! The THINNER nuts are installed FIRST on the OEM reverse shift stop (Adjust reverse shift stop bracket to preferred position and tighten down thin nuts). The THICKER nuts are installed LAST onto the Cobb shift stop (Adjust Cobb shift stop bracket to preferred position then tighten down thicker nuts).
-THIS IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE ALUMINUM STYLE SHIFT STOPS AS IT IS A PAIN TO ADJUST BOTH AT THE SAME TIME!😗👌
After driving for a while using the Perrin shift stop I decided to switch to the Cobb shift stop. Perrin's shift stop and many others are made out of aluminum and do not have near as big of a contact surface as Cobb's design. I noticed the reverse lockout mechanism will pop over the shift stop at times when shifting from 1st to 2nd and it felt awful 😅. Cobb's shift stop is made out of nylon much like the OEM reverse lockout shift stop. I 100% recommend the Cobb shift stop over any other aluminum one 😗👌👌

Mine came with two sets of nuts… Had to look it up. The thin ones are used to secure the factory shift stop, and the Cobb has cutouts that fit over the nuts. Made adjusting both stops easier, as I didn’t need to fight two at once. Other than that omission, the video was helpful. I used one of those aluminum ones on my old WRX, I used a couple thick washers to raise it up and prevent the issue of the reverse lockout slipping over the top. I do like the Cobb solution much better.

I'm pretty sure I over looked the hell out of that 👀😲! I'm going to add those extra nuts asap cuz I sureee did struggle adjusting both of them at once 😅♥️

@@TEVIDEOS Cobb has written directions on their site. They are easy enough, but seeing how to remove the trim piece in video form is nice. I didn’t trust myself with how to do it just from those instructions, because the trim was much harder to pop out on the 22 than my old 20 model.

Do you have a cobb shift plate set at 35% or whatever? Is that why the perrin wasn't working?

There are 2 sets of nuts that come with this! Be sure to tighten down the stock shift stop with the slim nuts and then install cobb shift stop on top with the other nuts! Makes it easier to adjust! I messed that up in this vid

I made a slight error with this install fyi! The kit comes with 2 sets of nuts. The thinner ones can be used to hold the stock shift stop in place and the others can be used in conjunction for the cobb shift stop positioning. Makes it a little easier to get it adjusted just right!

That's a magnet dock for my phone. It clicks into my aux port and holds my Fold 5 phone in the unfolded position 😁👌 Fits perfectly in that little cubby 😁👍
