I can appreciate that. I sent one to Spain and it was $860.00 just for the UPS shipping fee. I thought it was a joke until his credit card cleared. He said he had to pay taxes and custom fee on top of the shipping but he had not seen anything like it in Europe. He must really like bees!

Thanks for your comments. I have well over 200 (anticipating 300 before the end of the year based on current sales) in the field now and not one return yet so the people who have them like them. I have noticed on my sales map that where I have sold a vacuum I'm much more likely to get additional sales in that area. Apparently my customers are showing their vacuum to other people and selling my vac for me.

I really liked your product and I would love to buy it . The only problem is that I Iive in Brazil so I think it would be a bit expensive to send it to me.

On valve adjustment to you just crack 1/4 turn most of the time?

Can experiment but about half open/half closed is a good place to start. Longer the hose you will want to close the valve a little bit more to get the bees through the hose. I have found over the years you want to move them through the hose quickly so it doesn't clog up. The bees are tougher than we give them credit for. The only time I have the valve fully closed is at the end of my removal when I want to make sure any remaining bees in the hose are sucked through to the catch box.

Howdy Guy....was able to try out my new Colorado Bee Vac this evening on a small hive under a styrofoam planter bowl. there was a small hole on side and the bees had made a few combs inside. I was still not sure on the valve adjustment. It seems it kept clogging up on me...not sure why..like it was not enough suction? I did manage to get some bees but just seem like a weak suction. Sometimes I would get right next to bee and would not be enough suction to suck the bee up? Ill try to experiment with it tomorrow. Also If I have these wild bees how close can I put the wild bees next to a nuc that I started 60 days ago? I have the vac box with bees in back of truck with top off and have comb in frames in another empty box with queen excluder on bottom. Tomorrow morning Im going to put bee vac box on top of brood box next to my other hive from nuc in April ... Im learning...thanks again-stan

The most common problem is that the vacuum top is not sitting flat on the catch box. If the vacuum is sitting flat on the catch box you are going to have more than enough vacuum suction. When you sit the vacuum on the catch box move it side to side and then forward and back on the catch box to make sure the vacuum top is not caught on the edge of the catch box.

thanks Guy...I did what you said and it works fine now! and I have plenty of suction. :) I just have to make sure box is all the way on frame like you say. I was kinda of bummed. As it seemed like this wild hive was going to take roots. I walk down to the bees yesterday and literally thousands of bees were in the air..It was something to see. In about 7 min...they were gone! I put a queen excluder in new bottom box... and then i opened up the silver tray that allows bees to work down. I guess I failed to get the queen. :( If they swarm like that, where do they go if they don't have a queen? was something to see. Im learning every time I try something. thanks!
