Cobia Fishing Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel

A pretty solid day of cobia fishing on the bay, August 2021. Lots of fish on the bridge but lots of fishermen too, it was a Saturday so we had plenty of company. I tried to explain a little bit about what was going on in the video because it was some pretty chaotic action. Cobia are unlike any other fish in the world and targeting them is really different from anything else you would do in saltwater.

Only caught one near the bridge, and that one was off about 20m when I hooked him. I tend to get uber-focused on sighting and presenting with eels and bucktails. You finding the fish, and then going after them deep, trying different things, is a good wake up. See you on the water.

Good work guys! Bridge fishing is my all time favorite. Nothing beats this challenge. If I could give ya a tip, once you get the fish in open water, keep the boat in a spin that way you can hold the fish on the corner stern, don’t have to chase it around the boat.
