What does an "object module" looks like? What does a "subprogram" looks like?

Hi Johnny, Thank you for your message. An object module is like a binary code (i.e. that can be executed by a computer). A subprogram is similar to a COBOL program, but its scope is limited (i.e. as per requirements). The sequence would be DB2 followed by Cics followed by cobol compiler.
