I am watching many of your COBOL videos. Thank you for the work you do. Question: I notice that your COBOL editor has color coding (Red, Green, White). I'm using Vista tn3270 emulator. Is your color coding an option on your editor/emulator, or is a an ISPF setting that I can control. Right now I only have green showing. Thanks.

hello sir,by using "OPEN OUTPUT FILE1" in procedure division output means it creates a new file after than what should i give in run cobol file1 dd dsn=kc03f9e.tarun.file1,disp=shr is this statement is correct or what should i give in the dd statement explain me in detail sir. file1 is empty ps file it doesn't contain any data then should i give disp=shr at there or what should i give in the dd statement i'm trying this file concept from past 4 days but am not getting it saying "abended s000 U4038 CN(INTERNAL)" error reply me fast sir plz getting frustrated with this file concept.........

If the file is new,,,u have to give new keep delete in disp parameters....shr is used for existing file

kindly make a video , that suppose we have a flat file name user and we also have same table in database, so we need to read that flat file and compare with the data in table, if any difference present then update the table with the difference data, if table is empty, we have to write the file data tlo table
