This radio is still sold in my country , around 70e to 85e in car stores and camping/hunting shops. I have one as a base set up at a forest location, does ok .

Hi Richard you still have a problem eith mains type hum on your audio when filming in the lab. The setup you use for On Air testing is fine. The Cobra 19 has a good recieve but like most the selectivity is poor hence the noise floor. Also coupled with the new fandango'd CPU's for a little more internal noise. Hope you can trace the lab audio/mic issue.

Hay you! Stop picking on that mic, I use it every day.... Mine does appear to be a little creaky though, even from new. With that set being small I would expect it to have a small mic though......... Thanks for the video Richard....

No, I never have in 40 years. However, Knights always set the power & deviation right when you buy from them whereas box shifters on ebay can't. Richard

proving that the Cobra's meter is either taken from the wrong part of the circuit before the filtering or is just a crap receiver. One day when we actually get things straight here & I can get the building work finished, we'll do some adjacent channel tests using the instruments here to be able to come up with DB figures for selectivity like we do with the SINAD readings. Means using two test benches at once so not possible at present. I bet some of these newer sets are only fit for SH!T set Sunday, Richard

It did ok, but give me an 80's set, I think sets have gone backwards and not forwards!
