Thank You so much for the video. I am in the process of building a circa '99 LSC kit that sat unstarted for this many years. At well over 6 feet and approaching 300 pounds a Cobra, even in my younger days was a no go. Carroll Shelby wasn't a small guy, and he fit. But I tried and didn't. Immaterial as I never had the money for one. And the guys wanting a big block? Well, when they build their own they can use whatever they want. But the performance of a modern "built" 351 Windsor rivals the 427 unless the SOHC engine which are like hens teeth. Rare. And hard to tune. The weight savings is good for handling and braking and the engine compartment is tight even with the small block. I LOVE that car. Well done. No advice from me. I'm guessing my expertise dims in comparison to the builders of this sweet thang. Thems that can, do. Thems that can't give advice.

That's the same make I have! A beautiful blue one with white stripes. A LoneStar 427. Mines a 2001. Built originally in Houston TX, bought by the previous owner from AZ. He sold it to a dealer in Las Vegas 4 yrs ago. I made an offer 2 years ago from that dealer in Las Vegas,cuz it had no bites. Drove it home to SoCal, put another 10 grand into fixing everything... Now it's back in TX by San Antonio where I moved close to... Back in its birthplace! I love the looks I get when I rumbles past everyone. So bad@$$...

hehehe, what a incredible car, but i would like to make mine with an electric motor, incredible design and lines make this car one of the best classic of all times but more than that, this is a extraordinary document about the effort and works of a family and their friends, all the images was good but the pic in the minute 16:40 to 16:42 resume everything: mission accomplished, all efforts rewarded, father and son together congrats, dudes, long live for yours ;)

carloko08 if you want to build a cobra with electric motors you’ve missed the point by millions of miles..How millennial of you Don’t think about putting an electric motor in a cobra fascinating how the mind works though. But you can buy a kit and do one won’t you just put a Chevy engine and one everybody wants to do an LS swap that’ll get everybody’s attention that’s what you really want

I love your choice of paint job,but why the cheap Grant steering wheel? A wood rimmed Nardi would have been much more period correct.
@imbadwrench7 жыл бұрын
give me a break. Its fiberglass, it has a small block in it, it has a solid rear axle, it has completely different suspension design and geometry. It has lug nuts to hold the wheels on, there's a fucking cupholder for christ sake and you are going to complain about the steering wheel?

@@imbadwrench well I wasn't never going to say anything about the steering wheel. But with your comment I can't help but to say I was thinking the same thing. But hey what do I do I know right. Member of Cherokee Regional Mustang Club senior car show Judge. But this is indeed a very good build that I enjoyed watching. Instead of people putting down something that someone else built maybe the right thing to do would be to ask if you had it to do over again what would you have done differently. Respect people respect.
@imbadwrench5 жыл бұрын
Theres different kinds of respect. I respect the fact that guy built his own car the way he wanted it. I would not have done much differently, subtle changes. But my first 2 cars had the same "cheap" grant wheel in it and I am quite comfortable with them. I don't get the "keep it original" kitcar guys. there were so few actual cobras made that you just know every one you see is a kit. no use getting upset about it.

Congrats on a very fine build! My only con remark is about the chassis. It looks like it must weigh over a thousand pounds by itself. No attempt by the designer to reduce unnecessary weight. Weight is a performance killer. Check out FFR website. They do it right. Still, a very fine build!
@daviddoucette85916 жыл бұрын
Robert Beck it actually only weighs about 300 lbs.It has been very well engineered and tested. 1250lb/ft of torque was applied before it moved 1 degree of deflection. In my opinion, UCC builds the best Cobra Replica kits. No donor car parts at all. That's why I purchased one. I am currently building mine.

A nice car in its own right, but not a very accurate Cobra. Like MOST replicas--with rare exceptions such as ERA--it has a dimensionally incorrect body. The profile has some 3-4 extra inches added under the doors. No real '60s Cobra ever had that bloated, "pregnant" look. Because there are so many more replicas with this look than real Cobras, people have come to think that this is an accurate Cobra appearance, but it isn't.
