The Cobra Kai series shows that he was taught you have two choices kill or be killed and to never show an enemy mercy. He was also taught one of the most aggressive forms of Karate by Master Kim Sun-Yung.

It's interesting that Mr. Miyagi had to ask for Daniel to be left alone before the tournament. Knowing Kreese and his students, they would terrorize Danny up until the tournament so he's as soft as butter cream.

Of course, Daniel was asking for it. After harassing him, they already were leaving him alone until he sprayed water on Johnny who was minding his own business at the time.

@@datacipher Yes, but Johnny started the conflict, and no, Daniel was not butting into his and Ali's argument. He was trying to give her her radio back and defuse the situation before Johnny attacked him. Also, these guys had been harassing him for weeks, and when he retaliated, they almost KILLED him. Be honest. You would've doused that creep with the hose, too.

Go back and watch the movie. Daniel is the instigator. In the Beach scene, he jumped in when Johny was getting his heart broken. Water hose at the dance. Nuff said. Yeah, he got his butt kicked but he instigated each of the fights. Not the hero we remember.

Plus, if Daniel can't drive that truck back and seeing that Mr. Miyagi doesn't have a license, the police would have to tow that truck away.
