What an interesting and informative series. Normally this kind of info would send me to sleep in minutes because all I want to know is how to use the paints to PAINT. But clearly Don, you know how to teach, because you have my total attention. Thank you.

I was wondering where the name Cobra came from. That's really interesting, the history behind it. And I didn't know all that about paint, the difference between dyes easily mixing with a binder but not being lightfast and permanent, and pigments which don't easily mix with a binder but are much more permanent. Really interesting information. Thanks.

Why don't you make Alizarin Crimson? Anne (again).
@burak56016 жыл бұрын
anne robinson there is no alizarin crimson in royal talens’s paint lines. They stopped producing (or never produced) genuine alizarin crimson (pr 83) due to its low lightfastness. Instead, they make other subtitutes like permanent madder deep and as a customer of rembrandt oil colors I can ensure you it is the same color with alizarin crimson but it is much more stronger and lightfast than alizarin crimson. Other major art supplies manifacturers are getting rid of alizarin crimson and they replace with other subtitutes like permanent alizarin crimson, madder deep or even quinacridone colors
