Wow. This is amazing. As a songwriter, I love watching people cover Townes - whom I believe is the greatest songwriter to ever exist. Townes' version of "Cocaine Blues" is from Hoyt Axton. Yours is better than both of those versions IMO. It has more energy, and it is about cocaine, after all! Love it. How this doesn't have millions of views is beyond me. This is what music is supposed to sound like. Great job.

This is NOT originally by Townes Van Zandt. It's a perverted and much inferior version of the song that was poplarized by the blind Rev. Gary Davis who claimed to have learned it from a traveling carnival musician, Porter Irving, in 1905 and was later performed by Dave van Ronk, David Bromberg and Roy Bookbinder, among others. Let's give credit where credit is due, Dubh.

I'm well aware of that fact Ben, and if you had bothered to read the description you would have figured that out for yourself. Townes Van Zandt is in the title because I'm covering his arrangement of the song. But enjoy your imaginary points for being pedantic on the internet. Maybe next time think for a second before leaving a pointless comment
