I suffer from migraines also and I found a little trick that helps me is to put ice on my neck and a heating pad on my forehead and it knocks me out so that I can sleep. We were watching this video and I thought I would like to share that with you. Praying for you guys.

I was diagnosed in 2005 with occular migraines. Didn't have problems really except with car lights and glare. Now since I had cataract surgery and got covid around the same time, I have almost constant migraines. Fortunately still mostly occular with eye pain. Praying for your sweet girl!

As someone who has a terrible gag reflex, I have found that if you put the pill in applesauce it makes it easier to swallow. ♥️

Im deaf in one ear and it knocks my balance off big time. When I have headaches it does even more. Im sorry she has migraines I don't think mine are that bad. All I know from working in the hospital is that they always have a mortar and pestle and they grind the pills up into a powder and add it to a little bit of applesauce or pudding. I will be praying for Kenzie for God to rid her of her migraines.

When I was diagnosed I never had a spinal tap. I live in a small town. When I was in the ER the doctor just looked at the symptoms and diagnosed them. I am in the mid fourties’ now. I only have had a few that lasted for days. I have had migraines that I would have been happy to die. Yes there are times you know they are coming. Have a OB/GYN do hormone testing. Stress, lack of sleep, poor diet, and hormones are a huge cause. I do understand she is young. Even when I was younger I did have bad headaches. My first full blown migraine was when I was twelve. My balance is messed up with a migraine. Noises do bother me during migraines too.

I’m sorry she went though this migraines. I have cochlear implants Right 2002/ Left 2011 but device quit working four months later then replanted. A month later after replanted. I went to the hospital twice totaled 2 weeks. I was nausea, head pounding, unbalance and very dizzy, very weak and lightheaded. We thought it was implant but it was rule out. I cannot remember all of these since I passed out. I slept for 4 days. All tests I had were rule out but only found out I has vestibular migraine. I have medicine to control it. It took me awhile to heal. As today, I’m feeling great, love my cochlear that I can able to hear better than hearing aids. I worn hearing aids since a year old till adulthood it had no benefit to hear ( not enough volume to increase). Now I can hear whole lot better - oh boy it’s powerful processors/ implants! At first processors I worn called “sPrint” one for BTE / body but I trade in with Freedom from sPrint body. After right surgery, I had N5. Now I’m wearing Kanso processors. I love it which it off my ears. Pretty soon, I will get upgrade to Kanso 2. I can talk, read lips, hear, and use my first language ASL sign language. I graduated from a deaf school. I really enjoy your KZbin and TikTok. Good luck on your journey! 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

Wow, I'm very surprised! Yesterday, during the votings, there was an old woman with the migraine when she wears a cochlear implant. She couldn't keep it up, but the volume was a bit loud that made headache. I was adopted from Russia with no family health history, so my left eye started seeing as a positive slope and I realized that it had the pigment clumping within both eyes. It depended if this person with a cochlear implant had a missing genetic information or not, unfortunately it is saying that the headache may not correspond to the cochlear implant. Hope everything went well with your family!

I highly recommend Botox shots in the forehead and base of the skull. Stopped mine completely except a week or so before the 90 days is up. I lost my sight, have lost all reasoning to use numbers, lost different abilities like standing up, any functioning. I was a mess. Botox fixed me!

Here is a hospital tip- don't try put it at the back of your mouth... just put it in your mouth with a mouthful of water- tilt your head FORWARD, so your chin is towards your chest, and swallow. This often works better with kids then the old ' put it at thr back of your tongue and swallow' method

I was re watching this video because i wanted to share my migraine story. I was born with carnial stenosis and had surgery to fix it. But i get migraines because of what happened. I remember getting my first migraine and it was bad. It was May 26, 2004 and i was turning 13 the next day. I remember getting home from school and was doing homework. I thought my foot and leg had fallen asleep. Instead it was a stroke and was taken to the er. I remeber getting the migraine on the way there and being sick all night and missed celebrating my birthday with my classmates the next day becaue i couldnt go to school. Then i had migranes occasionally and still do

I think she might be having a visual aura. Ask her if she sees flashing lights in the shape of a triangle or rectangle. You can look up migraine simulator on KZbin. That happens to me and I can’t see properly. If her doctor says it’s suitable, there’s a newer medication called Nurtec that has helped me a lot and it dissolves under your tongue. It’s not preventive, it’s when you get a migraine. The good news is I had my first migraine at 19 and I’m 41 now and they’ve gotten less painful over the years and I haven’t thrown up from one in years. I know the idea of shots is terrible to a 10-year-old but I think there are once a month preventive shots instead of daily pills.

I know she has had migraines for years...as she is getting older could some of them be related to hormonal imbalances, especially once a month? Our family has hormonal inducing migraines along with sugar inducing migraines. Sugar inducing took years to pin point. Sugar is in almost everything and we tracked foods, medicine, sleep patterns etc and would take about 3 to 5 days after she had sugar to have a migraine. And a different migraine medicine needs to be used for each for hormonal and sugar.

Hi. I have a few questions. Lol. Im 55 and lived in Florida my whole life. Migraines started at 16mos. Lost hearing completely in my right ear at 3. Back then they knew nothing about nothing. Assuming I lost my hearing because of the mumps. I have ok (for me) hearing in my left ear. My migraines however are a different story. They are the absolute worst always. But I never put a connection to them. So your daughter how do they say she lost her hearing? And what ideas do they think can be with the migraines? Is her bp ok? Which eye is affected? My mother and I have it with our left. Gosh... its horrible. I know this is long I'm sorry. This is the first time I've heard a story close to mine. Thanks for sharing.

Also you have to really advocate (as exhausting as it is) for the medication formulation in the US health care system you really have to be persistent and very demanding and pushy and not give a inch in between. It exhausting but it's the only way unfortunately.

@@deal_family Can you try Botox injections or an ocipitial nerve block both are much less invasive treatments and very sucessful treatments for migraines. Please give them a try. Especially with the eye pain it may help her. When I got Botox mine went away for 6 months and occipital nerve blocks helped for 6 months each. My migraines had me admitted in hospital for two weeks at a time. They have a newer migraine preventative too I forgot the name. I started getting migraines when I was 13. The best preventative I have taken and am still on is topamax. 400 mgs the only issue is it will cause memory loss and hair loss. You will get used to some cognitive side effects (takes time). But the hair loss is so upsetting (I’m 32) and it hasn’t improved. I am migraine free on the medicine. As far as taking the pills; try taking it in pudding or worst case see if you can get the medication compounded (turned into liquid) also your dr can rx you a spray to numb her throat and make her gag a lot less sensitive. Also consider taking her to ER if she has a bad break through migraine. Instead of her suffering for a week in pain; these treatments work within sometimes 1-2 hrs or sometimes 5/6 depending if she needs a few& fluids. Plus once you find a breakthrough ER remedy that works her Neuro can write his reccomendation; and you just bring to ER each time so they know how to treat her quickly and what meds to use; and try. You can start with, 1. iV fluids 2. iV Tylenol 3. Iv reglan : also nausea medicine; great for migraine relief 90% of time the migraine will be gone with this combo. If not then these meds can be used: 4. IV magnesium (like the supplement) it’s very effective 5. If that doesn’t work you can ask for IV decadron it’s a very effective steroid; that’s great for migraines. I hope this helps; and I hope you see this; feel free to ask me anything. I know about almost all the treatments and meds for migraines.
