Thanks Norma! The noise is incredible but it's not a noise that you would want to block your ears, its an amazing sound that probably doesn't translate through the video. If I were to put some of this out on my balcony how long would it take roughly before birds start to come? I would like to attract them & have put sunflower seeds & a little bit of dried fruit out on a tray attached to the railing but haven't had much success yet. It's been a few weeks. There is alot of birdlife around where I live & I live on a hill.
@CockatooMadness Жыл бұрын
What you need to do is get one or more of those sunflower seed bells that you can get from the pet store or Woollies and put them as high up as possible in some trees or poles near your balcony. Also get one of those green and white seed hanging feeders and put it close to your balcony also. They will find the bells and eventually eat them all and then they will come to your balcony looking for more. Also a lot of people have those green and white bird feeders (about $20)and many birds will recognise it and be attracted to it. Try some honey in water in a white dish that will also attract them but don't put out sugar. I started getting a lot to the feeder and bells but only 3 or 4 to the balcony but eventually they will all come. A few others asked me this and they tried it with great success. Good luck and let me know how you go.

I see Lorikeets around where I live but Im on the ground, and the bird feeder would be kind of in a secluded spot I think compared to where you are. Do you reckon if I made this mix, put it in a bird feeder everyday, eventually it would attract Lorikeets, from how far away can they detect it?
@CockatooMadness7 ай бұрын
They will eventually find it, maybe start with some honey and warm water first because the nectar is expensive and doesn't last long when mixed (it goes moldy real quick). They will spot it fairly quickly, maybe put some chopped apples too because they will probably recognise it better. Once they know they will always come and check whats on offer😊

How get the rainbow lorikeets to trust you? And how long will it take?
@CockatooMadness2 жыл бұрын
They actually build trust very quickly, usually within a few days and sometimes within minutes because they learn from each other. It's really easy to attract them with food and sweet treats 😋 I would say that they are probably the friendliest of all wild parrots.
@GoldCoast85 Жыл бұрын
Yeah they are very smart. I had afre swooping at me in a certain location and I picked up that something must have been wrong, I looked around and there was one sitting in a shrub injured. They are so smart and take care of each other. I don't thing the swooping was so much to try injure me, perhaps ward me off or a distraction tactic. Anyway, awesome video!

Because scientists observe birds, they say dinosaurs may have been very colorful and might have had some feathers, but I would also say they might have been outrageously noisy with loud bellows.
