Great video. So glad I already had a working knowledge of dog anatomy and the tools used to groom dogs. I have owned Irish Setters, Flat Coated Retrievers, and an English Cocker Spaniel. I have always done most of my own grooming. I have been involved in many venues of dog showing - conformation, agility, obedience, rally, and field trials. My boy Cutter - my last FCR - was an all around show dog, who earned titles in Conformation (GCH,BIS, BISS, BOSS), Rally, Agility, Obedience, & field trials (JH, WC, WCX). It helps to have a baseline knowledge of grooming blades and anatomy to fully understand the references in this video - blade sizes, angles, what a judge looks for, etc.I found this video extremely helpful in transferring my knowledge to the american cocker. I recently adopted Buddy, who is a very sweet senior rescue. He has a nice coat to start with thanks to the care given by the rescue shelter. I plan on maintaining the coat as part of his routine care.
