I like the music.... WOW that was spectacular. Amazing all the steering and pulling and pushing the pilot was doing.... I wonder just how intense is that for the pilot? We see this all the time from watching planes land with crosswinds, but rare to see such an amazing view from inside the cockpit and watching a pilot work.

Once they where about 5 miles out, it looked like the pilot might have blinked twice. A good show of skill and a good demonstration of continuing to "fly" the plane once they where on the ground

@phillipmckie49138 жыл бұрын
That is because of the wind. Pilots make these movements almost without thinking. They because reflexes after some time.

it's similar to the car steering wheel when you're driving in a straight line, you slightly move it left and right continuously to maintain in your lane while not thinking about it. sorry for my limited vocabulary.

FALLING TOILET true but to the french that's dramatic. lol

Because of crosswind, and since the control surfaces becomes less effective when flying at a very low speed he had turn the yoke that way to keep the plane leveled. I might be wrong though.
@benedictearlson90446 жыл бұрын
@@99191x No you don't, you only see this in films when they 'act driving'. In real life you don't do this when driving in a straight line unless the road is very bumpy or you are drunk.

Great video. That's a lot of work pilots do that we don't see sitting in the back. As for "humans" I will never understand this. Why are there 663 thumbs down? The title states "extreme crosswind landing". The video shows exactly that. I will never understand why we live in a world where human failures, people who achieve nothing in life are so bitter that they come on youtube or other forums just with the intention of putting a thumb down on videos. They feel like that is the sole power they can have. That power they lack in real life and desperately seek behind a computer screen. LOL if you are one of those: your life sucks!

One handed landing ...cool dude
@truballa2k36 жыл бұрын
All landings are one handed as the pilot must have hands on throttle to control attitude/speed. You will notice as he approaches the runway he is making fine movements to throttle to ensure the plane touches down at the right speed and area.

Much as I love TRON Legacy's theme music, in aviation videos the real sound of the environment has a major role in helping us put ourselves in the pilots' shoes, so there is no need for any music at all. Please just let us hear the voice of the cockpit, engines, and pilots. The footage nevertheless was awesome.

Whats with Holding The Control Yoke To The Extreme Left After Landing??
@truballa2k36 жыл бұрын
Hi, this is a cross wind landing/take off technique. You want to turn into the wind meaning if the wind is coming from the left, you turn left so a gust of wind doesnt tip the left wing up. By turning left on the ground the pilot is adding lift on the right wing.
@hdalank6 жыл бұрын
Awesome and the music is legit !

Is the pilot actually controlling the steering or is the plane doing it automatically? It seems like it's moving his hand more than the other way round.
@jdogcisco18 жыл бұрын
Was this sped up? The displays are flashing really fast. Also, it seems the pilot is looking to his right rather than straight ahead. If so, what is he looking at? How can a viewer tell that there is extreme crosswind? Thanks!
@Starflight20068 жыл бұрын
+Justin Schroeder Hi! no, the speed is original, depending on specific camera angle and light situation the display units can flicker very fast indeed. Well, donno what you mean with looking to the right. I first looked on the instruments and when transitioning to flare I usually look outside, concentrating on runway direction and -end, here every pilot uses his own favourite/personal technique, varied by actual situation and circumstances. If you watch carefully (not so easy to see on the video), you see the aircrafts yaw moments, the bumpy gusts and resulting counteractions with the steering wheel to keep it on the glidepath. usually, under normal wind conditions, there is much less steering input necessary to reach that. after touchdown then watch for the full aileron steering input to keep wings level, which is necessary to prevent wingtipstrike on the runway. thanks for watching and interest! cheers!
@jdogcisco18 жыл бұрын
+Cockpit View Thank you. It's very interesting. You are moving the steering very fast. That was another reason I thought the film was sped up. Does the plane respond as quickly as you move the stick or is there some play in it? On where you are looking, thanks for clarifying. maybe just the camera angle like you said. But out of curiosity what is that tablet looking thing on your right? Thanks the the explanation, it's a cool video.
