Coco made entirely too many errors tho. Though a win is a win. #GoCoco

Yikes. 17. We’ll take it. Hopefully she cleans those up in the next match. She plays Bencic who was getting her ass handed to her by Osaka before she started to stop playing & gifted her a win via a walkover. That was nice of Osaka.
@xxxxxxx92496 сағат бұрын
Yes but still she played well to cover up for those errors . Fernandez messed up I think she wanted to change Cocos strategy at the end she missed it as Coco adjusted well her game plan . Fernandez doesn’t like long shots. I feel for Leyla she was a promising player since her USA finals but she just went down or maybe becoz she lacked consistency in her practice or her team did not reassure her as Coco. Coco went thru a phase of losing but the team managed to make changes and she came back to life she is still promising although she hasn’t done what the public expects it’s a process and I believe she still has some good chances to add more slams to her cabinet

Note to Editor: Recaps of great volleys, baseline exchanges, serves and winners are far more enjoyable than a review of unforced errors.

Great win but too many unforced errors. Forehand was not there in the 1st set. Then in the 2nd set gave away points during a df string of 4 & 1 of them being during a break point. But a win is a win. Hope some of those concern areas can be cleaned up asap. Way to stay in there & dig deep. Good win. Keep digging. ❤

@imhereforitall9218Сағат бұрын
@@G2daG Yes Coco practiced with her BFF who is also a lefty & she simulated most of Leylah’s tendencies to better prepare for the match. Aside from the 17 errors it looks like it paid off.

I have asked on several videos and still haven't gotten a solid answer. Why do the women do this thing where they drop down almost to their knees to hit a shot from the baseline? I really don't see how it helps in any way. Also, zero of the men do that....
@themythuk7 сағат бұрын
Started by radwanska years ago.. makes no sense to me and deffo doesn't happen on the mens side.
@IsraelDaisi-h8w7 сағат бұрын
I think it happens when the ball is hit directly towards them.
@iamdrewmack16 сағат бұрын
It does help and some men do it as well especially when they are tall and the ball doesn't bounce as high. Some of those bounces are low and tricky especially when balls skid off the line.

Whenever you look at somebody like Serena, Venus, Henin, Sharapova, etc. They have a very calm facial expression when they play and they are extremely focus and alert. I don't see that from Coco. Looks like she's distracted sometimes and she looks like she's too eager to hit the balls, which in my opinion resulting in her doing some really silly errors. She really needs to learn to calm down a bit if she wants to win grand slams again. Anyway, I don't watch Coco's match that often but I don't recall her doing a lot of slice before. I really love how she's using slice multiple times and executing it really well. Her slice is beautiful, and I would recommend her to use it more, it certainly can reduce her error counts. Slice is also an underrated weapon on the WTA tour because very few women ever used it unless if the balls are so low. Many women aren't used to handle a lot of slice shots. She should really consider using it more often. She certainly has very good slice.

Layla did try. It will be hard for her to do better going forward. Coco still a whole lot to improve. Those coaches messed up her serve completely. The tv commentator guy, and the other one that is now with the Zheng. Has anyone NOTICE that ZHENG TOO is trying to serve differently. She now, is trying to serve JUST LIKE COCO!!!. IT is because of the THE COACH she now has! Coco and Zheng both will suffer and loose some winnable matches in trying this style. THEY BOTH before, HAD THEIR OWN NATURAL WAY of serving, which is what they should have stuck with, but THIS COACH guy thinks that the SLOWER LOOPY ARCHING SERVE style is the way to go. HE is WRONG! it is good to be able to do it, because it is helpful, but they should know when NOT TO EVEN TRY IT. It does not work against real good players. Zheng too now already start to have BIG TROUBLE, with her serves, as she did here at the AO, the same as Coco. THEY BOTH I hope will see STOP TRYING to so much to master this ugly SERVE. And try that of (I can not believe, I am saying this), Sabalenka.

@ButterNutt-el4kkСағат бұрын
For Coco and Sabalenka to be both top players their unforced error count is through the roof. Horrible concentration and “lock in” mentality. An efficient player could take them out at anytime with a lesser game. Thankfully Cocos speed and Sabalenkas power are the equalizers.
