I never thought she'd be the first to go (not taking Aloe into account, as hers is a special case) Most superchatted channel of 2020, one of the first to reach the 1M milestone, a bridge between the JP and the Western community, overall incredibly successful and loved. And then, this happens. Watching her announcement and her chat reaction, I realize that even her closest fans didn't see anything coming. All the talents are fantastic in their own way, but some of them are strictly individual stars whereas Coco was a force multiplier for the team. She never was one of my favorite, but no matter who you support in the community, we're all aware that a monument of Hololive is going away. I'm sure she'll find success wherever she goes. Well, she initially applied to be some tech support in Hololive, but someone saw her potential and having her do audition (or was she personally recruited, I dont remember) and thus Kiryu Coco was born. Maybe, she felt that a supporting role was her calling all along now. Aside of many pressure as a public figure of course (including all the dramas). Having said that, she did enjoy talking and streaming, so maybe she will do that from time to time as someone else (at this point everyone knows what Im talking about), but maybe not as a virtual youtuber anymore.

This must've been on her mind for a while. Perhaps she isn't leaving Hololive completely, but simply graduating from being a Vtuber and becoming a manager? She clearly has a strong desire for such a career and has brought this up after her new costume, so this isn't something that happened long ago. If this is true, then it has nothing to do with antis, health, family, or anything like that. Coco is simply graduating so that she has the time to get into a career that she is passionate about. For all we know, she could end up surprising us all by returning as C-chan with something that hints how we haven't lost our beloved kaichou even if she isn't a Vtuber anymore, allowing closure for many of her fans.

The thing is we’ll just never know. Maybe this graduation is actually a transition from Coco to C-chan and since some managers aren’t really defined she might be the Mane-chan the talents talk about. However, looking back… the talents themselves got emotional with the announcement so it might just not be the case. It really isn't an understatement to say that Coco was at least partially responsible for the influx of vtubers overseas and whatnot, at least from my personal point of view (although it might just be my way of coping with recent events). After the massive success of Hololive EN, more and more vtubers began debuting, and Coco was the one who "strongly insisted" for the EN branch to be made. Sure, it probably would've been made eventually even without her suggestion, but it probably would have different talents from the ones we know and love now. Coco should definitely be proud of herself for everything she's accomplished and everything she's done for the vtuber community as a whole. No matter what any anti tells her and no matter how down she may feel, I can only hope that she will always remember that there are many, many people out in the world who appreciate all she has done.
