When my daughter was Coco's age in the flashback, she liked to reach her hands out and touch my face - so when that scene came up in the theater, that was when I started crying.

The voice of little Coco in the flashback is Gael García Bernal's daughter so Héctor is really singing "Remember Me" with his daughter.

One of my co workers had lost her husband before this movie came out. When she went to see it she had no idea it was about what it was about and by the end she was a mess. Poor girl but she said while it "ruined her" it also was a good thing for her to remember him always even when she moves on.

This movie holds a very special place in my heart. My grandfather was a musician before he passed away a few years ago. Now my grandmother, his wife, is suffering from dementia. She's lost a lot, but always perks up when we play his old recordings. When it comes to Alzheimer's/dementia, they say music is the last thing to go. We're blessed his talent was passed down to us so we can keep his spirit and her memories alive.

As far as this movie breaking anyone who watches it... yes. Anyone who can watch Miguel play that song to Coco and not at LEAST get choked up must be some kind of monster! (I'm just kidding. I wouldn't actually judge anyone like that.) But this movie hit me especially hard because it came out just a few months after I lost my dad, who was also a musician, and passed his love of music on to me. My brother got hit even harder because he was a new father at the time. He had a little girl (now he has 2). So he got the double-whammy on feelings from it.

For anyone who has had to deal with a loved one suffering through Alzheimer's, this movie hits home REALLY hard. When Coco looked at her daughter and asked who she was, damn near broke me, the first time. A very dear friend had to watch her Mother slowly fade away from Alzheimer's, and I was there, the first time her Mother looked at her and asked that same question. The end, when Coco came back DID break me. Still does. The tragic part of this movie was that because the memories needed to be passed down from someone who knew of him in life, and the family was forbidden to even speak his name, much less any story, beyond that he left them, Coco was the only one who could save him. But by telling the whole family, at the end about him, she guaranteed him several more generation, at least.

"How did I not pick that up?!" (That Dante was a spirit guide). Because it's a very flashy movie with a lot of subtle things going on hidden in all the details, which makes it easy to miss things, but also gives it rewatchability

@@myranaam8562 I didn't like"Inside Out". For me the best Pixar movies are the"Toy Story"saga,the Incredible movies and"Coco".And"Brave"and"Nemo"are not bad.All the other Pixar movies I think they're highly overrated.

@@Nicamon as someone with anxiety and someone who tends to supress my emotions, inside out is my favourite Pixar movie. It touches subjects like toxic positivity, which is not often talked about. @@Nicamon oh ok I get what you are trying to say and as I have said before I respect your opinion. I would surely make sure to watch the video. Inside out is important to me because I saw it when I was going thought a lot and it comforted me. It was the timing and the circumstances that probably made it my favourite movie. I had a very rough childhood because my parents always told me I had to keep smiling and that crying was bad. So the fact that Pixar even touched this topic made me happy since children these days can learn a little bit from it. The media in my country never talks about it as well so it was a big thing for me . I hope you understand . But I completely understand what youare trying to say. I always cry the part of Miguel playing for Coco the song. I imagine that part of my grandma too which she died long ago. I imagine I played the guitar as Miguel and Coco as my grandma because I know how to play guitar and didn't get the chance to play in front for the last time to my grandma because I was away from schooling. And after my school break that time she left me and my family already I got sad and hurried back to see her. I love my grandma so much and I missed her so. 😭

So Miguel thinks Ernesto is his family because of the torn picture his family had. All he knows is that his great great grandpa abandoned his family to be a musician and because of this no one talks about him and his picture was torn. Miguel meets Hector, a guy who's trying to get to the living world but he can't because he's estranged from his family and they don't have his picture up. This is why I saw the twist immediately. The moment Miguel meets Hector, I knew he was the real ancestor. Disney twists are pretty predictable. To be fair, it didn't ruin the movie for me and the way he died still got me by surprise. Brutal.

This is my favorite Pixar movie. I was a mess after coco, she looked like my grandma, and the part where she didn't remembering her daughter, made me cry because in her final days, she did not remember who we were. So that song really hit hard.

I credit this movie for raising a lot of awareness about Dia De Los Muertos and the sheer SIGNIFICANCE of the holiday to people of Mexican ancestry. It nailed the HEART and true meaning of the holiday. It also made quite a few people proud of their Mexican heritage, myself included and I have to respect it.

I'm not a big cryer compared with some, but this film gets the waterworks going every time! Somebody would have to have a heart of stone not to be touched by this movie.

I used to travel a lot when my daughter was a baby... And I always sang her songs (For some reason "Cielito Lindo" was her favorite)... So I got Crushed on the scene when Hector sang to little Coco... I put my self in the same situation as Hector and the single thought of never coming back to her got me so deep... I cried like a baby right there... Now we watch this movie all the time... It's my All-Time Favorite from Pixar...

Suggestion: Big Hero 6 An amazing Disney movie
@latech7671
@latech7671 3 жыл бұрын
Big Hero 6 is actually a Disney Movie not one from the Sub studio Pixar But I agree that it is the most Disney has ever come to the Pixar-Style in their own originals and that's why I probably like it so much 😂

I didn't find it that amazing. It's really fun throughout but not the most sophisticated ending.

@@EatYourVegs Yea, but it is a good movie (even better than a few pixar movies) but why I said it felt more like a pixar movie than any other disney-movie is because of structure, themes and execution

Am I the only one more impressed by Miguel's luthier skills, being able to make a fully intonated guitar out of scraps from around his shop?

No, you are so right... the tone of his made from scratch guitar is on point! He should be a luthier as well as a musician.

Actually, I'm Mexican and in the cemetery when Miguel is "death" and Dante, the dog, sees him is a reference that in Mexican culture it was believed that the xoloitzcuintle (the race of the dog) are guardians of the souls of the death and guard the entrance to the underworld as they also guide the souls to it, that's why they also have little no hair, because of the flames and fire of the underworld
