I've always been a very scientific person. I also sing and dance and do art, but I have always been able to apply science to it. I have been trying for a while to figure out how to make my art look like it means something instead of just a replication of what anyone who can pick up a paintbrush can do, and I think you just showed me how. I haven't been paying attention to how it makes me feel, but how I think it will look to others, which i think is why it looks very generic. Thank you for showing me this.
@CocoBeeArt8 жыл бұрын
+Abbigayle Hedrick Ahhhhh sweet friend! I am also from a science background...I don't sing and dance, but I write music and paint :) I think science almost predisposes us to be think and "replicate findings" no? Feeling is so totally reckless....but so necessary for art to be free in my opinion

Hello beautiful friends :) A lot of people ask me how I approach/ plan/ what I think about where I paint. The absolute honest answer is....nothing. Hahaha. More seriously though, I clear my mind and put my completely attention on the experience of painting itself. That obviously won't be helpful for you, so I try to put in some tips of what I think I think about when I paint....eh. Very metacognition I know...hopefully it helps? If not, let me know I'll try to making another video on the same topic. On a more important note, how was your week? :D

+Coco Bee Art I totally get it, I'm the same. People as how I do it, how I make things, and I have no idea. My mind's not in it. I'm just moving my hands and stuff happens, or it doesn't, and that's it! The music was great on this too, btw. I listen to a lot of "Chillstep" when I write and paint, so it was very familiar.

I love your approach to watercolor! I've been researching and watching videos; taking in all the information I can. I think I'm at an overload point! I didn't get a chance to explore watercolor in school as my focus was on Graphic design. I regret missing the opportunity so now I am on my own to discover it. I get so frustrated trying to make something beautiful, that I forget how simple this can be. I've decided to "step back" from actually trying to make something and just enjoy the color. Enjoy the mixing, enjoy the different marks my brush (or other tools!) can make. I feel like the rest will follow in time :) Thank you so much! I have fell in love with your channel.

I am a new painter, I did my first watercolor in 5th grade simple rabbit grass type of thing, and 2nd Tempera paint in 12th grade. I'm actually a Pencil drawer and wanted to free myself from the neatness. Since I'm so used to pencil anything out of order I don't like when I do it and I tend to step away from it. But your paintinga are amazing, and I soon hope to become this good and free!!

Oh, I just came across your channel. That is SO COOL! Love your art! I'll have to check out more of your videos! I've always wanted to learn how to watercolour, but I can't draw very well and I felt stressful about the need to "control" the water and the paint. This abstract watercolour art looks like way more fun. Like meditative doodling ... I'm so going to try this. One question though: you briefly discussed paper in the "Art Supplies" video. But how do you prevent the paper from warping? You don't tape it down, I've noticed. Is your 140lb paper just that thick? Thanks!

Whooo, your work is so amazing and your videos so enjoyable, so soothing to watch! :D I have a mononucleosis so I am really tired and weak but watching your video feels good, thank you! :) I don't know if that's because I uploaded a video about splatters yesterday but I am wondering why you don't use splatters. ;) Is it because you don't like it or just because you don't think to do it? It seems to me that splatters could go very well with your work and it's a great way, too, to melt colors, play with water, have fun with watercolors. Your work is rather dynamic, in my opinion, even if the videos are relaxing so it wouldn't seem strange to see you splash some paint here and there. ;) Have a good creative week end! :) PS : I don't usually make abstract art but you inspired me. :P I think I am going to listen some Agnes Obel music and try to paint a dynamic melted abstract. ;) Thank you again for the inspiration!
@CocoBeeArt8 жыл бұрын
+Watercolor Sketching Dearest friend, thank you for your kind words. I am so humbled that I was able to provide you some comfort during these times. (I had to google what mononucleosis is, in addition to Agnes Obel!) As for the splatters (interesting question), I do use it and really like the effect. Recently, I've been using it more so with inks/ acrylics and when I'm feeling slightly more...hmmm...energetic? The "dotting" you see me do is a mellowed form of splatters :) I will play around with actually spatters today and tomorrow to see if I should reintegrate it. If you see it in future videos, it will be entirely your doing hahaha! (Thanks for the tip!) Sending you a biggggg hug and lots of love and sunshine for your artistic journey!

Your process while painting is breathtaking. It's a meditative process. I feel so at peace when I watch your videos. Your music selection is so soothing, I always look for your music in iTunes, sadly, I don't find it. It's to advance for iTunes. I think of what kind of person you must be like when I watch your videos, I know you are a very mindful person. You are VERY PRESENT and GRATEFUL. You are truly BLESSED too. Your talent is evdient of that. I feel so blessed when I watch your videos and listen to the music. I can't thank you enough for sharing with us. My only wish is that I can get that type of clarity, gratefulness and mindfulness to bring to my own art. - Stay blessed.

+Red Gemini Arts My sweet friend. I really do enjoy these long comments of yours. Thank you so much for taking the time to write. The music you hear is mostly indie music producers on the ...edge of creation as it were :) Besides loving that sound myself, I feel my work is a bit, out there as well. So we jive well together. Sometimes these songs are free to download directly from the producers page. I'll link you my own soundcloud profile for you to follow if you like, so you can see where I find this amazing work (soundcloud.com/lolobeeebee ) You're the first person that mentioned the word mindfulness (bravo!), and that at it's core, is the philosophy I am experimenting with and want to impart to others. I don't know how to express what I feel about this piece haha. I think it's great, Reaaaally Great!! Also, I don't compliment people unless that's what I really think: I rarely like abstract drawings and paintings too. Although, I wouldn't call it amazing for some reason. I'm not sure why but I think it is because you weren't 'hardworking' to make it: it's more like expressing oneself, in this case it's yours. I'm fond of these kinds of work and I admire how artists can share their mind and feelings making drawings; I'm doing my best to be one, though I have loooong way left to go xD. It's not a painting which has the best of your skills but has your inner self which is why it's not that marvelous but more mystical. What a long ass comment but yeah... haha xD
