Seeing how excited she was to get in the blackbird, i wonder if she'd like any of the ace combat games. There's no blackbird (as far as i know), but you do get to fly some aircraft! 4:54:00 back when i played this on the 360, there was an achievement for beating this level without having your mask break. i never actually got it because it was too difficult for me to not get hit (my brother got the achievement though). Thinking about it now, it's an interesting mechanic to briefly implement in a game like this. you can no longer get shot and slowly regen your health. now you have an environment suit that CAN'T be damaged or else you perish. This is what COD would be like if you couldn't heal!

Vod gang. These later COD games really blur the line between being a fully cinematic movie, with minimal at best gameplay. The gameplay though is crazy ferocious, and entertaining. Still makes for a good one shot playthrough. Never knew about the numbers meme, but IRyS made it pretty hilarious. The Zombie survival at the end was pretty unexpected, but very cool. Never thought I'd hear a streamer compare strangling a guy via keyboard to playing a piano but here we are lol.

“Fun” fact: Castro survived multiple attempts by the CIA and the mission OP40 caused quite the controversy in Cuba for showing killing Castro. Also Bay of pigs was an actual event, Black ops 1 and the og cold war missions in. black ops 2 are set in actual events that happened in history but altered a bit for obvious entertainment purposes, so Historical fiction. Edit: Vorkuta was an actual labor camp or gulag and there was a riot there. 2nd edit: Reznov is a ww2 veteran and a character from call of duty Waw which I consider the start of the black ops timeline and you play along side him as Dimitry Petrenko, survivor of the massacre at the square in Stalingrad and the one who gets to put the soviet flag on top of the reichstag at the last mission for the russian side, ending the war in the east. 3rd edit: Project MKUltra was an actual thing and the CIA’s attempt at mind control via LSD and other types of drugs but it ended up not working as intended and a lot of info is still missing cause they managed to destroy a bunch of files. In short the cold war was wild, while the USA and USSR didn’t go hot on one another they did do proxy wars to have spheres of influence in different parts of the world for their ideologies along with doing clandestine operations against one another. Also MACVSOG was a real top secret type special forces group who would do cross border activities in neutral Laos and Cambodia to sabotage and mess with the north vietnamese who were also there moving supplies via the Hochi Mihn trail and MacVSog had a 158-1 kill to death ratio meaning while they were outnumbered against the north Vietnamese army they would still kill a big amount of them before one goes down along with being able to call in airstrikes. They also had a 100% casualty rate since when they touch down they would start being hunted by North Vietnamese soldiers specialized in tracking them and hunting the macvsog operators. MacVSog wasn’t acknowledged until 1989.

Late comment! I had to attend a few emergencies but I’m glad I managed to listen to the whole stream specially on the final part! Despite all of the friendly fire I feel like this will be an unpopular opinion. I think it was normal because of your “excessive” focus. You were so much into the game that whatever moved on the screen, you had that natural instinct to kill it! So if they were standing in front of you, it was their fault indeed! xD Good job in completing the game! Because it's not necessary to play it as it isn't a direct follow-up. Sure Black Ops 1 has connections to World at War, and you'll get a little more out of the Black Ops story if you play through World at War, but it was written to stand on its own from what was Treyarch's previous game at the time. BO2 and BOCW however are examples of direct sequels.

Aight. Guess I'll go autist with the zombies. This is IF she decided to hop back on. Again... *_IF_* she decides to hop back on. So IRyS. You've just stumbled on a mode that's been going since 2008 back at World at War. The most recent addition is Black Ops: Cold War (as of typing this). Now there are 38+ Zombie maps (with 6 sub-maps and 12 remastered maps. Some maps are remastered twice) spanning 6 games (World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops II, Black Ops III, Black Ops IIII, and Black Ops: Cold War) Most maps usually have "training" and "camping" spots to them. For example, one of the maps, Der Riese, there is a catwalk where everyone tends to go so they can funnel in the zombies. You can survive for quite a long time doing this. The map you got dropped in, FIVE, is not a very new player friendly map. As it's very close quarters and lots of things to get caught up on. Now, the "fan-favorite" maps (as far as I understand them) are: Der Reise ("The Giant" is the Black Ops 3 version), Kino der Toten, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Mob of the Dead, Origins, Der Eisendrache, IX, and Ancient Evil. (I don't know if there are any "fan-favorites" in Cold War tbh. The one I could say would be Die Maschine) Personally I would recommend newer players to start off with Der Riese or Kino der Toten. But for the more "modern" zombie experience, I'd suggest either Origins or Der Eisendrach. Or heck, even the slightly more challenging Mob of the Dead. Some maps I'd advise not going in till you're ready: Verrückt (World at War version. It's not difficult per se, but the Sprinters will run you down), Shi no Numa (more challenging than difficult since the swampy areas will slow you down but not the zombies), Shangri-La (it's a map that doesn't give you a lot of breathing room, like FIVE. Someone put it perfectly. It feels like you have to keep moving) Moon, Die Rise (lots of snags and verticality to it. You're in a skyscraper complex), Zetsubou no Shima (my personal least favorite of the Black Ops 3 zombie maps. It's big, it's packed full of special zombies, and it's a points eater). Can't say much about Black Ops 4 or Cold War cause they're my least played Black Ops games. But half of the Black Ops 4 maps are just reimagined old maps. So once you play the original maps, you generally have a good idea how it flows. Now I know this might look intimidating, and to be fair, it can be. BUT the trick is to keep playing the maps. Get familiar with them and know their flow. Every map has a flow, as tricky as some are. And sometimes the flow gets interrupted, but that's what happens some times.

Most likely they're just used to Multiplayer FPS games where what you do and what you kill is designed to immediately be understood in a split second. Campaigns are designed to immerse you in the story and AIs are kinda dumb so the need for very intuitive HUDs like MP's isn't there

Thanks for the stream today, IRyS! Congrats on beating another CoD campaign! This game had a surprisingly good plot, all things considered. I always dismissed CoD and its ilk as just mindless FPS games. The past few games, and this one especially, proved me wrong and I was really invested in the plot. Also that JFK documentary that I watched ages ago didn't prepare me for the reality of him defending the world from zombies. Guess that's what historical revisionism does to people, huh? Also I know that we like to poke fun at you at times regarding certain things. In this case, your... talent of shooting anybody in the vicinity with reckless abandon. Whether they be friends or foes, your aim is sure to hit the target. But in your defense, it IS quite difficult to make out differences between units on the chaotic battlefield. Combat gear is combat gear and they tend to sort of mix together amidst the bullets and explosions. All things considered you still did really well! Also I know it was touched on in the SC reading (I was out when you were discussing it), but you deserve to take a break after all the hard work you've been putting in the past few years. Don't hesitate to consider one in the future because your well-being is ultimately the most important thing. See you in Calli's stream!

I noticed that Irys tends to repeat text on screen, repeat what characters say, or say whatever's happening. If there's a cutscene of her character running she'll say "Running" or if the character says "I don't know what this means" she'll just repeat that line or if there's numbers on screen she'll go "Numbers". It becomes really funny once you notice it because it's like she's a robot learning what things are.

Call of Duty World at War already has "peak" buttons where it slightly changes your FOV but your hitboxes is exposing only your upper torso. And even then BO1 also has this feature. The reason why they are unpopular though is that it barely changes FOV, so you don't even know if you are really peaking or not when you press the buttons.

Well, more friendly fire doesn't that mean you have good aiming? But it can tell you did do less friendly fire in the second half of the stream compared to the beginning.
