The LED bottom version of this lightbar is the best lightbar Code 3 has ever made, change my mind

I don't know, their Pursuit LED bar is pretty awesome but I will say the newer Excalibur bars with LED bottoms, LED uppers with the standard or fast rotators on the upper outers is awesome as well.

@@rjracing38 They do seem to be great lighbars, if only their newer products would be as succesfull as their MX7000s or XLs...

Looks much better than all the LED stuff today. Isnt there a company making one that’s led and goes in a rotating pattern?

Well Federal Signal has the Vision SLR that has actual rotating LED pods and Whelen I think has some LEDs that emulate rotators but most lightbars nowadays use just LEDs I assume for not needing a motor.

I do agree the halogen style bars give a nice older classic style to them but the LED bars are extremely nice for the amount of bright light they push out for the minimal amount of power draw they require compared to their halogen counterparts which, in a sense, paved the way for the LEDs. Federal Signal has a few models that utilize the "rotating" LEDs and I believe Whelen has a model as well. I have seen the Federal Signal Navigator bars and their Vision SLR bars in person and they are absolutely amazing. Maybe one day, I'll custom configure a SLR bar and really trick out the LED configuration for the rotators.

@@rjracing38 Whelen has the Rota-Beam modules/options for the Freedom 4. Haven't seen one in person, but I'd imagine that they're _very_ impressive. LED lighting does have a ton of advantages, but rotary bars just have that distinct look; especially sealed beam bars. Bars with independent rotators tend to be pretty good, but the gear driven ones (Aerodynic Models 24 and 25) and especially sealed beam bars, whether chain or belt driven, take the cake! Power hungry and can be maintenance intensive, though. Still, if something should go wrong with the components in a new LED bar, no in-garage repairs there! Off to the mfgr it goes and you'd better hope that it's still under warranty! Buddy of mine needed two Whelen Pioneers refurbished. They were a few _months_ past warranty and Whelen quoted $680 _per light_ ! Those are just simple spot/flood lights too! Now just imagine what a repair to say a Legacy WC or Freedom 4 WC would cost!

@@rjracing38 If you went for a SLR navigator, try and get one with a built in MB1 in the rear.

I would enjoy getting my hands on a SLR lightbar, let alone a SLR Navigator. I have my eyes peeled but soon as I get one, ill definitely get a video of it.

So many useless settings on these old light bars lol. Alley and take downs are nice but other than that..y
@rjracing38 Жыл бұрын
Only thing I could think of is different departments have different setups they want to use, same for EMS, work trucks, etc. Each area may want different things so the manufacture can have all the settings available for their bars then depending what a customer wants, can use the settings they desire.
