Code 3 MX7000 L.A.P.D with Code 3 Arrowstick Controller

Hello fellow collectors!
Today I made a video of my beautiful Code 3 CA MX7000.I bought this light in 2009 on Ebay US for only $50 without domes & wire.Few weeks after, I bought 2 NOS red/blue domes and wire for a good price too.
Inside we can find :
-2 fast rotators
-2 standard rotators
-1 center rotator
-2 sweeps lights
-4 takedown lights
-2 front flashers
-2 Alley lights
-2 rear flashers
-Signal Master Arrowstick (6 bulbs).

I do love many of the new LED lights, but, there is just nothing else like a loaded MX7000! The "sparkle" effect is iconic!

I do agree the new LEDs are far brighter then any halogen or strobe bar out there but there is just something about a fully equipped mx7000 and a fully outfiited whelen edge that just demands respect. Sadly those days are over.

@@baddriversofthenorcalarea500 Halogen Rotators are still aerodynamic with bars like the MX, halogens project out farther which is key for clearing intersections and traffic in front of you, Rotators are actually easier to replace parts and add stuff to. We’ve used rotators for years so amperage don’t really matter, having too much brightness can be just as dangerous as too dim. And Lightbars like the MX can pack a lot of features in a single bar. And last of all it’s based all on preference and opinion.

By California law you have to have at least 1 steady burning RED light. My local department had these on there older crown vic models.

Chris Keller never understood the logic of that. Couldn’t find any logic in California code (then again, nothing the state does makes a damn bit of sense anyways). I understand having any light on at a time, but not the same one, i.e. at any time, at least a couple lights on the bar should be lit, but it could be an overlapping alternating pattern.

@@jaysmith1408 The whole idea of a steady red is that it can be seen . Henderson NV also has steady reds for the police and all EMS vehicles. From afar a steady red is more visable than a flashing, pulsing or revolving lamp

jfsa380 cvc 25252 states every emergency vehicle shall be equipped with at least one steady burn red warning lamp visible from at least 1000 feet

Remember LAPD soup can lights steady burning red for the longest time on their cars

Very nice from one collector to another. Code 3 mx7000 bars are but far my favorite bars. I have 3 46inch bats now in the garage getting full make overs. I have one site I buy allot of used and new parts from. Any recommended sites for blue and red domes or even clear? Thanks, and she is a beaut

You got a deal on this bar. I had a guy trying to sell me one for $300 at a garage sale even after I kept talking to him about how it was overpriced he could still not lower past $275 so I gave up and walked away

This video has two different light bars. Look at the wiring. The first lightbar has loose wires vs the 2nd one having an actual wire harness.

This is not authentic. The true LAPD version has slower revovlers and the red / blue liughts on the bottom are steady not flashing

Salut hervouille, je possède une code 3 Excalibur avec une commande arrowstik et j'ai un soucis avec l'arrowstik, j'ai du courant avec, les leds du boitier s'allume mais pas ceux de la rampe. Tout les branchements sont fait sur la rampe donc ça doit venir des branchements sur le boitier mais je ne trouve aucune aide sur le sujet. Merci de ton aide. (Je t'ais mp sur face également)

QUESTION: Especially for you guys familiar with Ca. 's law. I've never been to Calif. but HAVE watched tons of TV. [MANY set in Calif] Usually the TV/Cop Shows were pretty true to real cop cars (LIGHTS at least) Adam-12, Dragnet, Chips, etc with the Steady-Red (front), and usually amber alternating to the Rear. Even Emergency! on the fire-side. (they had some FUNKY set-ups back in 70s!) But, there was a time when all the cop cars had two, 2-beam rotating beacons (no steady red noticeable). [I'm figuring shows set in the early/mid '80s] I'm thinking 'The Rookies'. Sorry for all the TV references. Just included them as examples and rough time periods. Any thoughts ???? 🚨 🚒 🚑🚔🚓

Right.all amber in the back and red/blue in the front.Code 3 made. it was in the bar when I bought it.

For a blue and red dome the best chance to get one is eBay or elightbars.org
