Why did 1950s TV couples sleep in twin beds? Didn't they like cuddling?

It wasn’t that great when that’s all there was. When we finally got color TV it was like a miracle. lol

Most first-run syndicated series in the 1950's and early '60s- including this one- never got past one season {39 episodes}.

I was only 10 months old, when this was broadcast, and now, the older couple look younger than my husband and I are, our RVing days behind us. I wish I could find someone to fix up our little house. Seems like the fun stuff only lasted a few years....

I noticed a young John Dehner dusting for fingerprints at the start of the show - a great character actor.

There was an episode of the original 50s DRAGNET series with an extremely similar plot, except that the two suspects were lovers. This version, however, is more realistic and grittier in tone. I also prefer the acting here, with a fine performance by the housekeeper.

With proper hair and makeup Carl's wife could have been pretty hot for her age.
