Despite this What If probably being impossible to pull off given the writing of the story, I've always found it a fascinating idea if Aelita became the secondary villain of season 4 after being the key to the success of the heroes for so long.

Would actually make for good story. Think about it. Throughout season 1, the LW try do their best to bring Aelita to the real world. In s2, they have to find a way to severe her connection to the supercomputer. In s3 they finally do it but in the end Aelita would be lost. They tried so hard to save her in s1 and s2, then in s4, she would be their enemy. Only problems is that it may be almost impossible for the LW to win since without Aelita they can't deactivate towers.

Seeing how the renault factory inspired Code Lyoko in France I wonder if Lyoko actually physically exists and the events actually happened or if the people who lived there actually hung out in the factory trying to make up the idea for Code Lyoko.

The only issue is that she is the only one who can deactivate towers, so there's the question of how the Lyoko Warriors would cope with that. Maybe in an alternate universe, Aelita gets XANAfied and destroys the core instead, with William somehow gaining her ability to deactivate towers in the process, forcing the remaining LWs to work more closely with him despite their reservations. The LWs would have to deal with his continued arrogance and lack of experience, with Ulrich in particular despising him even more since it's also allowing him to get closer to Yumi. It would make for a really dramatic alternative to Season 4, that's for sure.
