1:35 i really enjoy his tracks when he pushes the boundries but its impossible for me to not like his "normal" (?) tracks. His execution and mix of a drop never fails to amaze me. Deathstep scene has lots of great artists that have great ideas but most of them dont have the sharp, clean sound Code has. Even if he makes a ultra generic screech with 1/4 basses drop, im sure it will sound amazing. 2:42 i cant see how Purpose sounds like a lot of stuff he has done. 170 Bpm deathstep with little Midtempo elements sure sounds different to me

Agreed on his sound being the most rounded and well-executed in the genre generally. Re Purpose, I'll have to listen again but I wouldn't have said that without reason :)

honestly, yeah. Gonna have to agree with almost everything you said here. AOTD just doesn't hold up compared to his previous albums from a pure ingenuity standpoint. it is not a bad album, and it's produced well, I just can't say I remark from my head a lot of memorable moments in the whole thing, unlike how I feel about his previous works.

@@Nawtystep Title track, Purpose, Fade To Black are the best ones, Purge is also super cool, unique af (love how weird the drop is, and the Qoiet vocals are amazing). I wasn't a huge fan of Illusion tho, this death house thing just doesn't do it for me ngl.

@@jennifer008 I did really like TLC, but I feel like God LP is his best work especially because of how all the tracks sound so unique from each other, but still feel like they all have a similar vibe, every song is so creepy, haunting and dark, and and the pacing of the album doesn't break even though the drops are so fkn disgustingly heavy, just a beautifully made album imo. TLC is still super good tho and has many memorable bangers.

Overall I thought the album was pretty good, there were a few parts I didn't really like, but the majority I found to be enjoyable. My favorites are probably Illusion, Soldiers, and Fade to Black. Eclipse would probably be up there to, the vocal was one of my favorite moments in the album, but the first drop brought it down a lot for me. As always, nice review :)

Purpose is drumstep which is a DnB subgenre. But you're right, it actually sound like The Pearly Gates from his previous LP

The thing with the track sounding like DnB it will be a style of some DnB or drumstep but code pandorum has said that he's trying new genres with his own style which is why it has the drop like that

I'm still obsessed by The Lovecraftian Horrors and I didn't manage to finish this one. Dimension 3 was genius. I really don't like the new Code Pandorum tracks it's all the same to me I don't find anything interesting in it, but i'm a huge fan of all his older tracks.

I appreciate art of devil ep because it sounds really cool and streets of rage it fucking one of my favorite songs and I’ve met code pandorum couple of times and one thing about same beat many artists maybe use same beats because a lot artist like to use same beats because they feel comfortable with that style and I also like yultron song with code pandorum

Nawtystep In my opinion, the return to his older style was great. I especially love his mid tempo, In songs like eclipse and propose. My favorite song was probably art of the devil by it being the most heavy track. But as you said, there are some weak points to the album. But I’m a big code fan so I might be biased
