Let's take a closer look at the lightest weapons in the game. Bayonets typically also have the longest reach being able to tag enemies with their shots. The damage is usually somewhat low compared to other melee weapons but the stamina cost for each attack is also quite low letting you dance around enemies whittling away their HP. While bayonets require finesse and patience to use properly, they are still a solid choice of weapon.

as someone who just started playing this game and swapped to the piercer cause it was a sniper style that looked decent and was upgraded, I've been wondering why my damage was so low and get most my dps from drains. Now I know, and am quite sad lol. There goes my most upgraded weapon. On the upside, I've been in close melee more because I've been using drains so often, so perhaps a switch to a shotgun might not be the worst idea....

Our AC7 choices might not coincide, but thankfully you didn't choose Daredevil. Anyway, it's time for the bayonets. The weapons that singlehandedly salvaged my interest in the game when I dropped it for the first time, they have the highest discrepancy between base potential and full potential, meaning they will be your overall worst choice until the second third of the game (a.k.a. Scathach and Heimdall). However, their unique privilege of built-in dodges, along with their long range and low weight (depending on the bayonet), makes them immaculate for late game. Their skill ceiling is also surprisingly high, since you need to be on point with your dodges, resource management and positional awareness. I'm not going to go super into detail about which stuff makes bayonets better like I did with hammers, but most, if not all, bayonet builds will want Charge Accelerator and especially Time Crunch. Ranged Impact is more complicated, and explaining why would be past the purposes of this guide. -The Queenslayer Bayonet is a weapon that somehow keeps getting ignored by most people, usually because they only care about damage. In reality, it has multiple advantages. Its moveset is reliable and evasive, making it surprisingly good in all sorts of scrambles. Its extremely high uncharged shot speed allows it to tag any enemy reliably, no matter how evasive. Its extremely low requirements allow it to be used in every single class and every single build. There is no bayonet more versatile than this one, and it's the only one I ever use. Most others often feel like a complete disappointment. I highly recommend this one. -The Brodiaea is basically the QS Bayonet, but in exchange for higher stat requirements and less versatility, it deals much more damage. There's really not much to say about the Brodiaea other than it's the overall best bayonet in the game. It deals good damage, it's a sniper-type bayonet and its only real weakness is its inability to knock enemies down. -The Riot Breaker can be perfectly described in one word: irony. It has the absolute best crowd controlling capabilities of all bayonets, at the cost of short-ranged attacks and shots. So much for being in a ranged weapon class, huh. Its melee moveset is only okay and its uncharged shot is mediocre at best, so it requires building entirely around it. In a sense, its versatility is near-nonexistent, but its effectiveness at mob dispersal keeps it relevant for the entire game. -The Bayonet was my first consideration for a secondary bayonet. At first, it seemed good, mainly due its purely horizontal moveset and niche in strike damage. However, due to its atrocious light attack cancel window and very short effective range, I now consider it one of the worst bayonets in the game. There is nothing this bayonet can't do that others can't do better. Avoid it and its corrupted variant and never look back. -Your complete lack of enthusiasm perfectly describes the Rubellite Piercer. Aside from having good looks and the highest charged shot speed (which deal low damage in return), it's utterly dreadful. Its moveset and damage are both awful, and it deals blood damage on top of that. There's no real reason to use this other than to torment yourself. I'm very disappointed it's as bad as it is. -The Argent Wolf Bayonet is an extremely weird case. It has very high base damage and... Not much else, huh. It has extremely high weight, low scaling, short uncharged shot range and the worst moveset among all bayonets, making this the level 1 special and nothing more. It's much like a one-handed sword with an identity crisis. -The Burning Disaster is the only non-DLC bayonet I have never touched, so seeing it sated my curiosity at the very least. If the Rubellite Piercer didn't exist, this would be the worst bayonet in the game. Even excluding its obnoxious weight and innate fire damage, it has extremely demanding stat requirements for a ranged weapon. For how much of a noob slayer the Cannoneer is, this weapon certainly doesn't live up to his name. -Finally, we have the Libertador. My highly anticipated nickname for it is certainly not flattering, and anyone versed in old Counter Strike memes should have heard of it. _The noob cannon._ This is a weapon infinitely praised by all players of all skill levels for being the best bayonet in the game for no other reason beyond its shot damage. Even though its shot damage is indeed unparallelled, it has a multitude of drawbacks. Its moveset is like the Rubellite Piercer's but somehow even worse, making it abysmal at ichor recovery and practically necessitating the use of Blood Sacrifice or consumables. Its melee damage is atrocious, reinforcing the above point even more. It lacks the range of the QS Bayonet, the Brodiaea and even the Rubellite Piercer, limiting its ability to stay away from danger. Finally, its weight is above average, which makes getting quick dodge speed inconvenient for the overwhelming majority of non-alleviated Blood Veils, especially on low equip load Blood Codes like Artemis. In short, its mid range effectiveness is the best in the game, but it's such an inconvenient niche it's usually worth sacking a little damage and going with the Brodiaea. I guess this is it. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be taking part in any CV-related stuff, especially now that I got Elden Ring. Regardless, I hope my comment was useful to whoever reads it.

Well, I certainly appreciate your perspective. Let me first say that noob cannon is an appropriate name for the Libertador. Just slap on Radiant Barrel and call it a day, mirite? I didn't realize it weighed so much. Actually, I overlooked the weight for the majority of the bayonets since they're generally pretty light. I guess I should have paid closer attention. We are in total agreement when it comes to QS Bayo. It's so good. Brodiaea just needs to charm me more, I guess. I bet I would change my tune if I used only that for a full playthrough. The Bayonet bayonet was an unexpectedly pleasant weapon, giving me all I could want. Throwing enemies around, no weird backstep slash, burst damage for downed enemies, it's got it all! Rubellite Piercer still sucks tho. Argent Wolf Bayonet is one that I really like. I like it probably for the wrong reasons, but I still like it. I wish I could show how many times I got smacked while trying to roast enemies with the Burning Disaster's flamethrower. Oh, right, I could have, but chose not to because there are too many clips. Excellent stuff here as usual. Enjoy you some Elden Ring then!

@@PseudoDrifter _Oh right._ I forgot to talk about the backstep slash. Contrary to popular belief, a bayonet not having it is a huge drawback, because it removes the option of ending a combo in complete safety and auto-spacing into charged shots and a certain type of spells I've said multiple times I adore. It's relatively easy to practice staggering the backstep attack and resetting the combo, allowing you to stay up close for the purposes of ichor recovery, or for simply smacking an enemy without spending ichor. The attack itself also deals a suprising amount of damage and is the least prone to missing out of all bayonet attacks in the game. And I guess the AWB looks nice. It certainly has some merit as a bragging rights reward.

So, I'm sorta new to Code Vein, I just completed my first playthrough (minus the DLC stuff) and I was wondering if "three revives or fewer to aquire" means you can't get it after dying three times and reappear at the last mistle , you can't have your companion revive you 3 times during a single fight, or if it means both. Basically, do I have limited attempts to get these weapons, or can I just let myself die and start the fight all over again if I get "revived" by my teammates too many times?

Wish u talking more about Brodiaea range and weight. It has 1 of the longest range and lightest so can take advantage of Swift passive. I love using it on my mage build so I can get quick mobility and shot some week enemy from range.

I just made it to Anor Londo and I'm getting my shit ran with my Sunset Bayonet. I need a more powerful Sniper Bayonet. Spread Shot Bayonets have deceptively short range despite their high damage. If I'm going to be that close I might as well use the riot shotgun. (It's my secondary) This is a little frustrating, because as of right now, I don't have access to a lot of the other Bayonets. It seems all of the more useful sniper bayonets are after Anor Londo, or locked behind the gift system.

Brodiaea might actually be precisely what you're looking for. The shot damage is 2nd highest in the game in exchange for some farming invasions in the Town of Sacrifice depths for Old World Materials. I just personally don't like it very much, but I can't deny its power.

I didn't even have to say anything, and you already knew i've been almost exclusively shooting my way through this game. I can't help it. It's a lot of fun. I've never been able to have this kind of play style in a souls-like. It's very refreshing.
