Here while explaining the horizontal scaling, you are using the example of SQL database, but as we know we cannot use horizontal scaling in SQl.. ?

Now I am really confused a few videos ago you told us that horizontal scaling is used mostly with NoSQL databases because it's cumbersome to do it with rdbms because of joins and now you are saying that it's going to boost performance. can someone please help me.

this is a single table getting divided horizontally in chunks , if there were multiple tables with no. of relations based on foreign keys then there will be difficulty while joining them, you r right horizontal scaling is not much used in sql databases. for a single group of data with no foreign relations it is useful.

I think this is wrong information --> database partitioning is not splitting db on multiple servers: that's db sharding. Partitioning is when we split our db horizontally or vertically on a single server.

bhaiya paise toh horizontal scale krne mai bhi lagenge suppose aapka main 10gb ka hai server storage ab apko replica banane ke lie bhi practically 10gb ke server kharidne ya rent out toh krne hae pdenge, toh cost effective to nhi hua horizontal scaling.

bhai storage device ki prices capacity ke saath linearly nahi badhti, for example 1tb ki ssd ka price x tb ki ssd se compare kar. Tera x jab ek thteshold se bada ho jaata hai.. price of x tb storage device becomes greater than x times the price of unit tb storage device
