What I love in this tutorial is that you show how you solve some errors live. For example when you load in your .env file and it was not showing up, you show us where to look. This are the tutorials in my opinion that learn me the most. You not only showing the working parts but also the one not working with explanation how to solve them.

If anyone had the issue of not seeing the development tool bar at the bottom, it comes closed (at least for me). You need to click on the flame icon to show it across the bottom.

In the beginning of the video I got error prevent me open the public page and was not like the video because I used newer version of CodeIgniter 4.0.4 and it wont work after installed the 4.0.2 and followed your step to setup my First CodeIgniter blog now I really wanna say thank you for sharing this info with us + CodeIgniter more friendly than WordPress

The routing at the end trashed it, but I was able to put it back. Looks fine, but the nav bar never did actually pull up the right pages.. the "hover" did not show the right URL, so basically this didn't work for me. Hmm. It would be nice if you actually had to code for home, about us, header, footer someplace so we could trace it back and see where we went wrong, because pointing to bootstrap and doing copy paste - that stuff changes.

Hi, I am quite confused about the controller part for your pages. Why do we still need to include the public function index where you already have another function which is already showing the pages on the browser? Is it ok to remove the index function since?

Yudhi, no index.php shown by default in Ci4. It is not like Ci3 was, where we had to add extra htaccess rules to remove it. In Ci4 it is out of the box ready to go. If you want to learn more in-depth details take a look at this CodeIgniter 4 Series: shorturl.at/inV13

Hi Alex, Thanks for the tutorials, love your videos. I would like to point out, you can uncomment the "app.baseURL" variable and set it to the url, in your case "http:/localhost/" in .env file itself, no need to make changes to app/Config/App.php file as shown @11:47

You can go both ways. For larger projects it is more convenient to use .env file. You can check my CodeIgniter From Scratch series where I cover all of it. But thanks for pointing this out.

Hey, Daniel, make sure to duplicate env file and name it .env then uncomment and set the CI_EVIRONMENT = development Then uncomment app.baseurl and set it to localhost or localhost:8080 whichever is your base url Hope that helps
