I'm very much looking forward to getting an SC5000 in a few months. Even though I'm a Technics + Allen & Heath dude, it's plainly obvious that Denon is really who's pushing things forward in the digital realm. Great video, my man, thanks for uploading this!

Been using a X1800, 5000 and 5000M now for most the year and I'm really not missing Traktor and my Technics. I have even considered buying another 5000 and M. Two of each, they have been that great honestly. I do wish the crossfader was as tight as my Traktor Z2 is. Even using the utility option I still have a big cut in unfortunately. Hoping Innofader will drop a fader and I'll get the X1800 up to par immediately. Great overview of the units though you were spot on with everything.

What’s the trick when using one unit with two layers to get Layer B to work, is there a setting?

I want to see a Denon/Rane/Serato vs Pioneer/Rekordbox battle sharing half the Denon X1800 mixer. One DJ with the Denon SC5000 & Rane Twelve, the other with two CDJ2000NX2 & DJS1000 or one CDJ & one turntable sampling from cds, USB sticks & vinyl in the one setup

which case did you get? was it the Pro X?

Ordered these today after only ever previously owning many sets of various pioneer CDJ’s. Hope I’ve done the right thing

Mr Bridger I’m on the fence on ordering these. Hope they are good.

You will love them. I‘ve had mine for a good while now, and yeah, maybe one song here or there the bpm isn’t exactly on, but it’s never a show stopper for me. A little jog of the wheel and we are right on and ready to go.

Ay bro, have you ever experienced when switching between layers A and B on a single player that the digital pitch will stick and takes time before it changes to match the other pitch? And also when using usb (memory card works fine), instant doubles doesn't function properly when pushed?
@bboymac845 жыл бұрын
Well now you can use tidal with these things now. So you stream straight from these instantly!

Hey Bro, Whats the exact model/make of that coffin case? I got 2 brand new M’s and an S9.
@Code_mov5 жыл бұрын
This one is the ProX brand : XS-CDM2000 WLTBL . It’s meant for the CDJ’s but the 5000s fit perfectly

How have these held up under use? Any issues with them ?
@Code_mov4 жыл бұрын
They have honestly held up amazing, I still use them nearly every weekend, and never an issue with reliability.

Good to know. And good video man. Out of all the other videos I found yours to be very informative.

great video! i have these and the a coffin! man are they heavy! the one thing i would say for flexibility is that yo can use serato hid mode which has streaming built in so on one of the players you could put it into controller mode just to play any songs you don't have! how have you found engine software? the beat analysis needs to be improved and its way overdue for an update! that being said i love these players and the mixer! :)
@Code_mov5 жыл бұрын
You aren’t kidding it’s heavy! Like a 2 person job most of the time. I haven’t really delved into the serato modes yet. As for engine; it’s ok, my biggest peeve is the beat analysis. Playing open format gets tough, when the bpm changes, and it can’t adapt like rekordbox can. Hopefully that gets improved soon! I hear a firmware update is coming soon.
@72speedster5 жыл бұрын
@@Code_mov this firmware update has been allegedly coming for a year! it's more than a bit frustrating because the hardware is amazing! just let down (currently) by the software. the prime 4 has taken all their attention. hopefully we'l get something soon!

its been a few months, was wondering your thoughts now?
@Code_mov5 жыл бұрын
I still love them! Just used them last weekend for a gig, and they still work amazingly well. Yeah there are still the “occasional” bpm analysis issues with engine software, but it is very rare for me, maybe one song in 100 that it gets the bpm wrong, but I’m used to DJ’ing without any sync, so it’s no big deal to do one by ear now and then.

@@Code_mov thanks for checking back in, I am pulling the trigger today to take advantage of the free x1800 deal before it ends. Good to hear feedback that is current, ty!

You can load a raw mp3 files on to the cdj2000nx2 without going through rekorbox just like theses can I am just a bit scared with all that technology something will go wrong
@Code_mov4 жыл бұрын
Nah, I use raw files all the time. They load just fine, and even better, unlike the cdj’s they actually analyze the file fully, so you get the waveform and the bpm
@ritchieorr3195 Жыл бұрын
Can I ask Please that you would choose denon Dj over pioneer all day long ? Denon Dj is 100% trustworthy?
@Bertiemang5 жыл бұрын
So with the engine software, you can load your entire hard drive music into engine to have it all analyzed...this will reduce the song load time when you actually load a song into the 5000’s? You don’t need to use engine in order to have your profile and cues saved, correct?
@Code_mov5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can ahead of time, it will analyze them all on the computer, then when you load them on the 5000, it is almost instant. And technically you don’t need engine to have a profile and cues, that is all saved on the drive you use
@Bertiemang5 жыл бұрын
Code awesome, thanks for the information. I’ve watched a handful of reviews but this one was one of the most informative. How would you personally record your mixes using the 5000’s? I would be pairing mine with a Denon x1600. I know we could use Ableton or audacity, but I didn’t know if there were any record functions on these? Thanks!
