this is very insightful for people who haven't yet grasped the concept of a job / work

I've just got my first job as an Android developer. It's been a month from then, and I thought at the beginning I would do more like UI stuff, like implementing screens and so on. But the tasks I am getting are way far from that 😂 I have a task with estimated 10 hours, and spending these 10 hours just reading some stuff on the internet and gathering the info without even starting some coding. On the one hand it's cool that I can learn a lot of things from that, but on the other I am feeling kinda dumb, when doing them, because it takes me so long😂

What task is that actually?
@stewie2k5197 күн бұрын
@@abacaabaca8131 like for example reducing battery drain while recording video, or fixing bugs with payment gateway integration 😅

It's always like that at the beggining. Don't give up and with time everything will become easier. In programming it is like any other job, at some point you will solve so many problems that the next time finding the solution will be much easier for you! Good luck!

Keep it up! Depends on the company really, for example I work at small startup and create small apps from scratch and even though I like it, the pay is not that great, so just keep it up, try to become around middle/senior and then you will be able to pick your job opportunities much wider

Will Figma offer any benefits? For instance can I make my own icons with it and use it in a project with compose?

I do not love coding specially . But What I definitely love is seeing people using something I did. The first time it happened it was in Kigali I was seing a Sales agent using the app I totally recode from MVC to MVP ( yep it was before Google say not it's MVVM , and not with Jetpack Compose I am learning MVI with Reducer lol ) ... Seeing that you can code something in London and see that somebody so far away could use what I do in my desk and make a living from that. It's crazy... Code actually real world impact. People tends to do Lol meme. Or Meme App thing that do not have real impact... But coding can have very real world impact.

I love seeing the result. Coding for coding sake It's cool when you are in the process of learning something new like a new arch or onboard on a new project. But when you know what you are doing and it's repetitive the coding is less interesting now seeing the project owner be happy ... that's cool.

the key point is to be happy most of the times (not always)

That if you have serious intentions with coding and not just want to do it as a hobby, it won't always be sunshine and rainbows, but there will be times where you have to show discipline to get better

the farther you go to programming the more you get to know that you just dumb at coding 😂. dont let it stick to your head though, its part of the process to get good overtime.

@@justmeagain9302 you can either sacrifice short term happiness in order to gain long term happiness or vice versa. Deep, but true 😄

you can both do your work and be happy at the same time if your focus level is above a certain threshold - that threshold is called the flow state
