n order to gain access to the median nerve, the physician has to cut the ligament so it's a part of the procedure. Just like you code the bunionectomy, cut through the muscle, ligament in order to reach the bone is the approach, you don't code division of the ligament when you code bunionectomy. In order to use the right code, you need to know what is the objective of the procedure in this case to release the median nerve. I hope it helps.

It does not look like you are using the PCS book to look up the codes, instead a computer program. Where do I get this program?
