I still have a NYY shirt with his Dad's name and #35 on the back. He had some big moments and a small cult following in those days. After winning 2 WS with the Yankees he retired and became a professional firefighter in Arizona and apparently raised a great son and family. Class act people, really happy for them.

Okay honestly I remember watching Cody in the little league World Series in 2007 and to be honest it was like watching just an amazing kid who loved the game of baseball like I did and still do. Chris Drury, little league World Series winning pitcher, who hurt his arm so he started concentrating more on hockey won a national pee wee hockey championship, played hockey for Boston University wining a national championship and the Hobey Baker award for the nations top player. Was rookie of the year in the NHL and won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche, won a silver medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics. No diss to Cody Bellinger but Chris Drury is the most successful little league alumnus ever, the guy has won at EVERY level just in another sport!
