Scatter gun blast, tens in the air Half a million in a burlap sack Y'all have a nice day as we make our way To the caddie in the ally out back See when the times get hard Some good old boys turn to a life a sin We're like Robin Hood, we're just twice as good But we can never go home again Well I grew up singing Amazing Grace In a little white church in the woods My momma prayed hard for all her boys But her praying didn't do a bit of good The sheriff and a banker man came to push us off of our land Now we're six feet deep And my brothers and me we can never go home again Lord forgive me, I know just what I do I'll take what I need and then I leave the rest to my momma and you And that tin roof cabin might not have been heaven But it's closer than I've ever been God bless an outlaw's weary soul I can never go home again Sometimes I dream of that old front porch and my momma patching up a quilt While my brothers and me lay around in the shade of that live oak tree on the hill Now it's hide-out shacks, better watch your back and cover every track of where you've been A thousand wrongs will never make it right, I can never go home again Lord forgive me, I know just what I do I'll take what I need and then I leave the rest to my momma and you And that tin roof cabin might not have been heaven But it's closer than I've ever been God bless an outlaw's weary soul I can never go home again Scatter gun blast tears a ten inch hole Through an empty burlap sack As I say my peace for my brothers and me My whole world fades to black Here's three new graves underneath the shade of That live oak tree on the hill Overlooking momma's porch with a fresh coat of paint And a shiny new Coup De Ville Lord forgive me, I know just what I've done I've been through hell and found myself on the wrong end of a gun And that tin roof cabin might not have been heaven but it's closer than I've ever been God bless an outlaw's weary soul, I thought I'd never make it home God bless an outlaw's weary soul, I guess I finally made it home again

Nashville I love you, but what the hell are y’all doing to country music? I know you’ve heard of this man. Country music is country music. Y’all take care of country music and leave the pop to someone else. Country radio is garbage and has been for nearly a decade. It’s time for a change for God’s sake. Here is the new blood and by God I reckon Merle and all of em would rather have this man standing in their shoes over any y’all have playing over the radio.

Absolutely, this song is a perfect reflection of that story, “See when times get hard, some good old boys turn to a life of sin” This meaning that the members of the gang such as Dutch, John, Arthur etc. couldn’t make any money because they had to live off the streets, so eventually they had to come together and rob banks, trains, and wagons to survive. “Were like Robin Hood, just twice as good but we can never go home again” This meaning that the gang were really good at robbing and thievery. However they could never leave that life style, even if they wanted to. Like John tried his hardest, but eventually it caught back up with him. “The sheriff and, the banker man came to push us off of our land. Now were 6 feet deep and my brothers and me, we can never go home again.” This meaning Agent Milton and Agent Ross trying to push the gang out of the country, and them trying eventually cost the lives of quite a bit of people in the gang. “Lord forgive me, I know just what I’ll do. I’ll take what I need, then I’ll leave the rest to my momma, and you.” This meaning Arthur eventually understanding that dutch’s plan was pointless. Then all Arthur wanted was to get the people he loved out, and if he could do that, then he believed he won. “That tin roof cabin might’ve not have been heaven, but it’s closer than I’ve ever been” This meaning that even though the gang constantly had to move into sometimes very uncomfortable places, they always had each other. And they felt thats all they needed. “God bless an outlaws weary soul, I can never go home again” This meaning god bless the outlaws for all the pain and suffering they had to go through. “You better watch your back, and cover every track of where you’ve been” This showing and explaining had to constantly out run pretty much everything. Like the Pinkertons, the O’Driscolls, and the 2 rival Rhodes families. “1000 wrongs can never make a right, I can never go home again” This showing that Arthur finally understood that all of Dutch’s fancy words and speeches never really amounted to anything. “Scatter gun blast tears a 10 inch hole through an empty burlap sack” This foreshadowing Arthur’s final stand against dick faced Micah. “As I say my piece for my brothers and me, my whole world fades to black.” This showing that after Arthur saved all the people he loved, he eventually died. “God bless an outlaws weary soul, I guess I finally made it home, again.” This showing that through Arthur’s sacrifice, John and his family finally were able to live a temporary peaceful on the right side of the law.

@cowboy4jesus3N13 жыл бұрын
Well Upswing, see this here is a ballad, usually about persons that lived and died, or a situation in history, It's a way of telling folk tales. The money, either dropped it off, or had it dropped off, to their Momma, Now listen closely to the song, unfortunately he and his brothers were killed in their next attempted bank robbery. The reference, or meaning he made it home again, well unfortunately meant the only way he could go home again in peace was when he and his brothers were laid to rest under the old oak tree on the hill, and that's where they were placed. Had they lived, being outlaws they couldn't go home because the law would be right there waiting. So the song ends with what happened written above. Hope I helped you to understand the ballad better. If you have any other questions, you answer back ya hear ? God Bless.
