Good show overall. Women’s Rumble was solid even if I disagree with the winner. MCMG vs. DIY was good; super happy MCMG got to wrestle in front of this big crowd. Cody vs. KO was match of the night. Men’s Rumble was great. I don’t know if Seth turned heel, but the seed is planted for a Seth vs. Roman match at WrestleMania. And Punk may be in that match too. Punk was my pick to win the Rumble, but I’m happy for Jey Uso. I hope he wins his title match at WrestleMania.

Overall a pretty good Royal Rumble. The Women's Rumble had some pretty big surprises. Iyo is one of the Iron Women of the Night. 6 talents from NXT, including Giulia, Roxanne, and Stephanie Vaquer, are getting a lot of time, plus Jordynne Grace is an official WWE star. Alexa Bliss's return got the biggest pop. Sadly the match fell apart when Charlotte got a 10 min intro and pyro, pretty much giving a middle finger to everyone else that she was winning. Nikki Bella as number 30 was a letdown. Roxanne getting the number 2 was a nice surprise. Also surprised no Asuka, Becky, or Jade. The tag was decent but two short. What a moment for the MCMG to go from arenas filled with 5k in TNA at most to their first PPV match in the WWE having over 65k. I expected DIY to win by some sort of shenanigans. I'm guessing this is going to set up a 4-way tag match at Mania. A completely brutal and hard-hitting ladder match. KO has been fantastic in this feud, and even in defeat, I hope it's not the end. This has been some of his best work. The ladders took as much punishment as KO and Cody did, and the way KO solid that Alabama Slam and the ending of it was fantastic. An ending I don't think anyone expected. The men's Rumble had a rough start, but overall it might be one of the best. Jacob Fatu and Bron Breakker stole the show. We got Joe Hendry in the Royal Rumble. Plus the likes of John Cena, AJ Style, Roman, Seth, Cody, CM Punk, and Drew are all in the ring at the same time. A star-studded cast. Logan Paul got some mega heat. I really do know where things are going to go, for Roman and Punk heading into Mania. Is Jey going to go after Gunther or Cody? Cena putting over Jey is a moment people are either going to love or hate.

The only downside really imo is Charlotte winning (Iyo Sky was robbed hard) Other than that, I don’t mind Jey winning. If Cena won, the more hardcore side of the IWC would complain while if Punk won, some people would probably complain due to the incidents at AEW. Even tho I will say Jey as a wrestler doesn’t have the best moveset, he is really over rn so I do understand why he won.

Yeah I would say Seth Rollins either turned heel or is on his way to it. He attacked two top babyfaces after the three of them were eliminated, which included curb stomping Roman on the steel steps. I know Punk was a favorite to win, but I didn’t think he would win, and I thought that purely because of the favor Paul Heyman owes him. Ever since it was established that Heyman owes Punk a favor, I’ve assumed that whatever the favor is, it will involve getting Punk to the main event of Wrestlemania. If he had won the Rumble here, then I’m not sure what that favor would be.

Royal Rumble is usually my favorite show of the year and I'm pretty critical of WWE's product. However I think they really delivered with this one, all the matches were good. Ladder match was fantastic. Even the tag match was good and I don't really care for either team. Charlotte winning was predictable yes but I'm one of the few who actually like her. Jey winning was shocking. Looking at the final four I was thinking could they make it anymore obvious Cena is winning?

I was expecting more for both Rumbles but they end up being very underwhelming. Charlote winning feels like the Rumble was just made for her to win, she won for nepotism over talent when there was women there who are more deserving and been fighting for a year to get a spot. Jey winning is unpredictable but also, it sounds such a weirr decision looking at his wrestling statistics right with losing titles matches and not really looking a main event guy. The show wasn't bad but i thought the finishes of matches, outside of Cody and MCMC matches were really not good.

There have been plenty of instances where we had stars like jey be in the main event scene and thought for sure these guys are main event stars and look where they ended up. Don’t believe me ? Shinsuke nakamura, Ryback, wade barret/nexus, Austin theory, Baron Corbin, list goes on. So until jey wins the main event title he’s not a main eventer.
