Amen and amen! Preacher, I'd like to thank you for mentioning us divorced people. We are often looked down on and judge. Our family lost a church a year ago for this reason. Really, it's not a loss for us cause we're in an amazing Godlead church now.. Sadly, I've experienced a divorce, but it was as a lost person yet with reason. As did my now husband. I try to remind people that lost people act like lost people simply cause they're lost. I was saved at 29 years old as did my husband a bit after me. The Lord's grace, mercy, and love changed us! We've done this order based on the Word. But we lost a lot for it.. He and I both had 2 children each from our previous marriage. Needless to say, putting each other before the kids isn't popular in a blended family. It breaks my heart! Two of those children are lost in the world, and the other two are serving in church. Of course, the two serving in church are the ones that saw our marriage daily. We lost most of our family due putting God's order first. But all that is under the blood, and we are doing our very best to serve God! We've placed all four of our children in God's hands. We trust Him with them! I pray and believe with all my heart our whole family, those other two children will be serving the Lord with us one day!

Sadly the church as a whole doesn’t support divorced people which from my experience is probably one of the largest groups. It’s sad. We live in a broken world and to think that the majority of the church is in a godly happy marriage is delusional.

I grew up with a single parent and my mom had no problem disciplining us and I’m a better woman for it. No discipline will give you a disrespectful adult child who has no respect for anyone.

Brother Cody, I need to put in here. If a parent doesn't have the personal discipline to get with God first and have God break their heart with their childs disobedience and change their attitude from anger to calm and controlled discipline then that parent is the example of abusive. Don't get me wrong. Stripes, dark black and blue, long lasting stripes are necessary. The child should remember his error every time he sits down for the next 2 weeks. Anger must first be disciplined in the parent.
