Michigan and Lake Superior!! Thanks for showing us the beauty! What a life you have created! Winter is a whole different world up there, picture the waves crashing and splashing onto the rocks. The evergreens have that windswept look like the Columbia Gorge.

Full blooded Yooper here. Munising, MI. You have portrayed (very well) only a small portion of the true natural beauty the UP has to offer. Some will say NO to the snow, but that is part of the love I have for where we live. It always amazes me as I tour through the Keweenaw Peninsula, (motorcycle ride to Copper Harbor yesterday) the huge impact this region has had in the world's economy. I love studying and photographing the historic architecture in the mining towns of Houghton, Calumet, Laurium, etc. Glad you have enjoyed your time here.

A couple vlogs ago you mentioned that the UP feels like it is on "island time." 100% correct! The UP is chill in more ways than just the weather. The best thing about it has to be the people though. It is very "what you you see, is what you get." No pretense, no fake smiles or greetings, no putting on a show. Yoopers are comfortable in their own skin and don't care if you agree or not, but are not going to be confrontational if you do disagree with something. It is very much a "We are all in this together, have to get along" mentality. Spend a winter or two and you can just feel the different vibe whenever you leave. I graduated High School from Sault Ste. Marie in 1981 then left shortly afterwards, but still miss it everyday. My oldest son lives in the UP now so it gives us a great excuse to make the 4 hour drive up on a regular basis.

Kelly, I learned to swim in Lake Superior! I remember the instructor wanted us to open our eyes and see how many fingers he was holding. I refused because I was certain my eyes would freeze and pop out of my head! Meanwhile, all the moms were waiting on the beach wearing coats. If you live up north you’ve got to be tough. Lol

Cody, your drone skills are really great. You know exactly what speed to move to capture the beauty and how to edit it all together so it's truly an epic experience and gives your audience a real sense of what it's like there. Your adventure videos are my favorite and I'm so impressed with what Kellie cooks outdoors. Looks like such a wonderful life.

I am a Michigan Tech alumni of 50 years ago. We have traveled back to the Copper Country numerous times over those 50 years. I have seen many You Tube visits to Copper Harbor and yours is spectacular! You make the others look very amateurish. Our favorite dining location is the Harbour House! I agree that there is so much more to the Keweenaw Peninsula that you could explore. One place to put on your list is the A. E Seaman Mineral Museum located on the south side of the MTU campus in Houghton. It is a joint project between Michigan Tech and the University of Michigan. A couple of other places are Eagle Harbor and Eagle River on M-26 west of Copper Harbor.

So glad you enjoyed your time in Michigan. My family has lived here since 1850, some in the Upper Peninsula and some in the Lower. Growing up we vacationed in Michigan every year in both tents and a trailer and have visited every corner of the state. Glad you were able to see so much of it.

So glad you liked Michigan. We love it. We lived in Michigan, near Detroit, for 63 years but moved to hot, humid Alabama eight years ago. My parents were from the U.P. and I spent several summers visiting near Munising and the Keweena Peninsula. But I was in my 50s before we saw Pictured Rocks or Porcupine Mountains. We've been to Mackinac many times.

Born and raised in Michigan, remember snowy COLD winters and lots of snow. We lived back off main road on a farm and with the ice storms, we lost electricity so all of us gathered in the kitchen with gas stove on for warmth. Dad hung a blanket between kitchen and rest of house. Couldn't go anywhere because ice brought down branches of huge maple trees across the road. We waited for the county to clear the roads and we were usually last. Good childhood memories. The house is gone now, it burned a couple of years ago. Very sad, it was over 100 years old. I have lived in Texas since 1981 so I'm a Texan now.

I hope when you visit Michigan again you can visit the Porcupine Mountains. Awesome hiking, backpacking and camping near Lake Superior. If you visit Wisconsin, be sure to visit the Apostle Islands. Take a boat cruise to see the lighthouses near Bayfield, visit Madeline Island, Big Top Chautauqua... there's lots to do! On to Minnesota? Visit Duluth & the iconic North Shore. Come to Ely and look for moose, bear & wolves. Go on a canoe trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness! We love the Midwest and you will too. Thanks for all your incredible videos, love you guys!!!!❤️

The breakfast pastries looked delicious. The waterfall picture wetted our appetite for a trip we are taking next month. We are going up Hwy 61 from Duluth, Minnesota up past Grand Marais, Minnesota. They have a bunch of waterfalls along the coast up there. Iron ore and taconite is what they mine in Minnesota, the Iron Range up there is what they refer to often. The copper there in Michigan I found interesting. The sound of the water breaking on the stone beach is a unique sound. We are looking forward to getting out of the heat down here in Arkansas. Seeing you ya'll wearing long sleeves make us look forward to it.

you got that right, cooper harbor is a small town, but so cute and quaint and the shops are so unusual. Our waterfalls are so pentyfull up there and each one is different too! IF you come back, take the time to go along the western shore better. Mac Dune rides between Silver Lake and Ludington, than rent a dune buggy for 2 or 1 each and ride the dunes yourself. Whitehall is the cutest town with the worlds largest weathervane LOL.............Musgegon, Silver Lake, South Harbor. etc.......Petosky!

I loved eating at the Harbor Haus when I was in Copper Harbor. It was early October then and when driving on Brockway Mountain Road I crested a hill and was greeted by a sudden snow squall. It was cool and only lasted a few minutes. Isn't amazing how you can be places where you are on the lake shore and can't see a house for miles in any direction? It is definitely Gods country.
