Tbf though, some poses are like something both family/siblings would do and/or relationship, as well as some being more posed and like, arm over the shoulder, leaning heads in slightly, and they're dating even though they're not touching in intimate ways. My mom's divorced a few times and loves family pictures, and I have a cousin who's like a sibling, so I kinda have an idea, although maybe not the best idea. I feel like body language though is more indicative, due to some siblings looking nothing alike, ya know? Like, one of them had the exact same smile, not the teeth but the smile shape, which to me leans more into environment/growing up similar, which is why I had thought siblings. (They were-) Like, smiling and having higher cheekbones and looking like it's more in the eyes when you smile vs some of them without the cheekbones becoming more obvious, etc. I dunno, I'm a nerd about like psychology and analysis stuff, but I don't know much about this stuff. i think the head touching is a big signal. how close are their heads, leaning on a shoulder is one thing but moving heads together is a silent step up. plenty of siblings are comfortable being in each others space, like the model family in extreme cases, but there is still that sense that they dont think much of it, like a mutually assured permanent friendzone.

Lmao I only knew about the twin-like aspect and I was very confused when I thought of my boyfriend's appearance vs mine. The opposites attracting makes definitely sense, I'm just wondering why it can be one case or the other. I think I read somewhere that it has to do with genetics, i.e. by having a similar mate, you "predestine" your offspring certain features, while complete opposites means a larger gene pool and less chances for recessive illnesses and such. Wondering what exactly determines that choice 🤔
