As a former teacher, I think people forget that kids have not learned emotional maturity. Especially around death. They have no idea what it is so they think its hilarious. New teachers always make the mistake of telling young students of a personal death and then are shook when they become “that teacher with the dead dad”

And im like baby "dont say stuff like that. That means she would have to die to go to heaven." Then she laughs and says "oooh! 😂 mommy is your dad DEAD?!" My cousin has a 5 year old son, and any time he says a swear word, my cousin says “wow, that’s a strong word, buddy. Are you sure it’s appropriate for this situation?” They’ve obviously told him it’s impolite to swear in public and at school, but they’re also telling him that those words are for big feelings, and can be used appropriately It’s a far cry from my parents telling me as a child that they were “adult words” that kids weren’t allowed to say. I like her method a lot better

I just recently quit my job at a daycare. There was a particular child who once said they were going to stab me with a knife and did the stabbing motion he went on to say some more incredibly violent things. The mother of the child was on drugs while pregnant with the child which is what ended up being the child’s largest issue. Children have so many issues these days if you have kids please love and care for them. Don’t worry about the child they’re with good family and is getting the help they need now.

My aunt was really bad off in drugs when she was pregnant with my cousin and he ended up having really bad anger outbursts as a result. Super smart kid though, he was getting straight A's. It took years of anger management and therapy to get him out of it. Both him and my aunt are doing great now, he's about to be a dad and she's been clean for 15 years. Having a rough start doesn't have to dictate your whole life, I hope that kid has a much better future ahead of him now that he's got the support he needs.

One day I think I had said I wasn’t very good at something and one of my children said “It’s ok cause you’re beautiful on the inside” and I said thank you, and she immediately said “Even though you’re not beautiful on the outside.” all while smiling like she’d said the kindest thing, she genuinely believed she was complimenting me. To this day that is the most brutal and hilarious thing a child(or anyone honestly) has ever said to me.

I babysat this kid and his toddler brother and my first impression was that he was really sweet because he kind of helped me calm his brother down when he was screaming because he wanted his mom. An hour later while his brother was taking a nap, he walked up to me and started cussing at me incoherently and incessantly with like a random string of words that he knew were bad because he had this devious glare in his eyes and kept saying them under his breath as if he would get in trouble if his parents heard him. Then he started punching me in the leg.

@J.Millhouse Yeah I thought it was funny and wanted more so I think I remember him doing the same thing to rent a car or something... but I don't think it was this one.... OMG... just triggered it... it was a delivery truck service, he wanted to get something delivered... but it was a "cute" thing... like he wanted sand for a sand box... so he wanted a full ton truck to deliver a mountain on sand... which is ridiculous because "a kid doesn't understand what he is asking for"

Hi, paraprofessional here. I've seen some pretty evil things from kids. I work in the behavior room so I've seen some of the worst things that troubled kids can do. We had one student, a first grader, who became notorious for assaulting both peers and adults. To make things worse, he never saw any consequences from parents or the school because he's from a well known family who've donated money to the school. One of the teachers who unfortunately had to work with him a lot took a few days off because her dad died. I'm gonna call her Mrs. P. When she came back, this kid was back on his BS of assaulting people and peeing on the floor. Mrs. P and the teacher I work with were escorting this kid to the office, hoping that our principals would actually do something. Spoiler alert, they didn't. He was sent back to our classroom even after the next thing he did. While they were in the office, he asked Mrs. P "Are you happy?" She told him that she wasn't and she was upset with his behavior. He laughs and says "haha, you're sad cause your dad died!" None of us told him. This means his mother had to have warned him ahead of time and he freaking used it against her. This was a first grader. That was probably one of the worst things he had ever done. I have actually had nightmares about this kid.

Lmao your story reminded me of one of my mom's favorite stories to tell about (autistic, albeit undiagnosed at that time) baby me. When I was like 4, I asked my mom if we could get a cat. My mom said no, because she was deathly allergic. So, I earnestly informed my mom that it was okay, I would just get a cat after she died. My mom thought it was hilarious, thank goodness. She has a morbid sense of humor. Your joke about the sweater would have killed in my house!

Tbf she threw what I assumed was a dart at the rest of her family and guests when she bailed which could’ve hurt someone so Yh the mum understandably was like Yh no you don’t do that - should they have given her the dart at all? No. And when they took it from her (prolly realising it’s a bad idea) she had a meltdown and they gave it back to her - i wouldn’t say it’s fucked like they prolly love their kid and that was just a harsh few seconds of their parenting at a gathering but it was stupid of them regardless to give the kid the dart
