Ok, I’m so glad someone’s talking about the “Isabellaaaa” and “Luisa, Luisa”. I think the way that they kind of hang in the “Isabella” for a while kinda shows that “all eyes are on her”. (Which is kinda why she’s developed this pressure of being the PerfectChildTM) For Luisa, it’s quick. People don’t focus on her a lot, in fact, they don’t even greet her before (or even after) they give her a handful of chores
@mariaanaya75392 жыл бұрын
Yes! Agreed! And it adds on a leading point to Surface Pressure in that she does so much for the family and the village, but she’s so much overlooked and not as appreciated as Isabella who gets so much praise for being someone they want her to be
@bekfast_2 жыл бұрын
I liked the idea that someone had that the "Luisa, Luisa, Luisa, Luisa" is representative of the town constantly calling her for things they need done
@stephaniezimbalist37572 жыл бұрын
You're right, they don't greet her or thank her. What really annoys me is how irresponsible and lazy they are. As soon as that dude said to Luisa :"The donkeys got out again" I was like again? How 'bout you fix your fence so that your animals can't get out instead of relying on Luisa to deal with the consequences of your neglect. I feel like a lot of people take advantage of her willingness to help out.
@shinryouzen2 жыл бұрын
@@stephaniezimbalist3757 it lowkey bothers me that they dont even hesitate to call for her to do stuff because they know she’ll say yes. I know it’s technically her purpose and it can be taken as a good thing that they trust her as she’s been doing this for years, but idk it comes off to me that they are *too* comfortable it feels like they just order her around. You are right about the lazy part like the donkey guy. But also with the times such as when she moved a church I kept thinking at first that’s kinda cool she brought the church there. But on the otherhand that church has been built elsewhere, why cant the people go to where the church is supposed to be? Is it someone’s grand wedding/ceremony that they need the church at a very specific location??
@stephaniezimbalist37572 жыл бұрын
@@shinryouzen Exactly. We all need help from time to time and we all should be willing to help one another. When it's the same issue over and over again, then you need to do an assessment of why it is that you always require the same help. Instead of relying on someone else to keep fixing your problems.
@Valandar22 жыл бұрын
It's very subtle - but the way Dolores said her line at the end actually shows her opinion of Mirabel not getting a Gift: It doesn't matter to her. She may not be extremely close to Mirabel, but the presence or absence of a Gift doesn't seem to change anything, for her. She is also smiling, and willingly and deliberately participates in Mirabel's song, as opposed to being in the background like Camilo or Aunt Pepa
@MaeAlessa2 жыл бұрын
I actually think she may be closer to Mirabel than we initially see. She’s the only one in the family who doesn’t shun her, or think of her as lesser due to her lack of gift, she’s also probably attuned to how lonely Mirabel may feel (Super-hearing after all, she probably can hear her crying at night or something) and Mirabel did say she was her favorite cousin (One could argue this was a way to get her to give info but it’d have to be believable if she wants to get fed the information so maybe she really is Mirabel’s favorite) also Mirabel probably wanted a figure to look up to, like a sisterly person (and since Isabela wasn’t that for much before she felt the need to belittle Mirabel as abuela did, and Luisa was constantly busy, maybe Mirabel found that in Dolores instead.) They live in the same house, Mirabel is probably starved for gossip since she’s stuck in the house all day, Dolores from what we know doesn’t really have too many chores since super-hearing isn’t as helpful as plant-making and super strength. They’d both be stuck at home a lot (Camilo too now that I think abt it) they’re cousins, Dolores knows how the family treats Mirabel and sympathizes with her, she’s willing to give her info on Bruno, and Mirabel shares a room with Dolores’ little brother. It makes sense. Sorry for this unnecessary rant, it was just a theory J had.

This movie is very song driven, Lin really took the best stuff out of Hamilton music and put that elements in Encanto. From rapping, character and melody/music style association, overshadowing,and motif. Like how "The Family Madrigal" lyrics (So many stars, the perfect constellation) is mixed with Mirabel's melody from "Waiting on a Miracle" in the last song "All of you" (Stars don't shine they burn, constellations shifts). That is just one of the example, there is a lot more we can analyze from the song lyrics and musical melody

I was in your live reaction yesterday, I loved it, thanks for repost that song. Three quick answers that you missed between all the coments: Luisa can be translated to Louisa; you said quite well "dos oruguitas", just try to say "gui" as in the word guitar; and the words ending in -ito or -ita in spanish could mean the small version of something (casita as a small house) or could be a nickname or a way to call someone in an affectionate way (casa-Casita, Bruno-Brunito, Antonio-Toñito) and is really used in Spain, usually with family members or close friends. That's a way to make Casita part of the family instead of a simple house. Sorry for the length, I hope it helps ❤️

Hi Maria, I love your comment explaining some Spanish to people! Just a tiny little nitpick that in English, the "u" is silent in guitar (so it's said like gitar (with the i unstressed) rather than gwi-tar in Spanish)) so that part may be a little misleading for English speakers who don't know Spanish.
@mariacarrasco13222 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks, I also love when others do the same in english. But the "u" is also silent in spanish, so we say "o- ru-gi-tas" and "gi-tar". In words with "gue" or "gui" the u is always silent except when you use "ü", like in pingüino (pin-gu-i-no).

@@mariacarrasco1322 Hi thank you so much for taking the time correcting me there! I don't know why I was thinking my friends in Madrid would pronounce the u in guitar. Anyway i am finally commenting (and ill probably subscribe too dont worry), because i was left flabbergasted when you made no comment about the accordion that got tossed at Mirabel... Would love to see you react to Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust (their most well known song and the music video got voted as the best Finnish music video ever back in 2006 when the song was released). Truly an underrated band from here in Finland. Also a band with many different sounds all the way from slow melodic songs to full on rock. Although if you want to immediately hear a song that showcases how crazy good the lead singer Marko Saaresto's voice can be (and while his vocal range might not be the most dynamic out there he is an amazing example of what you can achieve by having absolutely perfect control of your vocals especially the raw emotion that his voice is able to convey) then i recommend listening to their song Daze. His vocals on the chorus are something out of this world. I just think that so many more people would love their music if they just ever heard them but since their from Finland it rarely happens. Although many have heard their songs in Remedy's video games Max Payne 2, Alan Wake, Quantum Brake and Control (Also every single reactor i have seen reacting to them has been pretty much blown away by their music so i'm very confident you'll like it) also... also... lot's of deep and meaningful lyrics and wordplay in their songs sorry for the long rant i just really want more people to know about them :D

It's nice to see that Mirabel was proud of herself, no matter what, if she had a gift or not. She accepted who she was and claimed that there is more people in the family than just her. So independant and cute!
