As a runner it's really interesting learning the way swimming workout differ from running workouts. Swimming workouts seem way more advanced.

As both I can say in running you don’t get as tired as easy but in swimming after 50 meters you get tired and you need a lot more air for swimming

Once Michael Phelps came to my training club in Mexico, he was with USA team training there for about 2 weeks like 1 month before the olympics, what I can personally tell you, is he eats about 600-800 grams of pasta EVERYDAY, and thats because I only saw his lunch. The amount of carbohydrates this guys eat to maintain energy is absolutely insane, they eat more calories than the rock himself. Swimming is tough but awesome.

"Praying mantis arms" totally defines how it feels. Coach Looze's workouts are like conceptual art; nobody understands it. In my day it was more like, "oh let's just swim five or ten thousand yards, won't that be fun?" The good old days, watching each rep get slower and slower until . . . praying mantis arms.

I watched this right before leaving for swim practice because I needed some motivation. I’ve been sick since May 20th..and it’s June 17th. I was kinda just low key sick until this past week. When I got pretty bad. I was making myself go to swim everyday still though. Until today. I was more than halfway there (it’s 30 mins away) and I realized that I’m way too sick to swim and I’ll just end up getting sicker. PRAYING FOR THIS STUPID SICKNESS TO GO AWAY.
