Yeah the unused dialogue is all the parts where Bennett felt compassionate, human and supportive. The finished game is so harsh because he pulled all humanity out, leaving only the cold, hard, spiky and absolutely annoying shell

It’s not really harsh or annoying. In this he actually notably taunts you more, where as in the full game he understands that you’re gonna be going through a rough time, but he consistently shows dialogue that he believes in you.

I actually discovered the 500 clicks thing by accident. For some reason I just find it oddly satisfying to click my mouse and stuff and sometimes I'd just do that while playing, and sometimes click a lot after I lost a lot of progress. At one point, after I'd gotten past Devil's Chimney for the millionth time because I kept failing the slide thing, I nearly fell from my chair because I was so startled by his voice, since I'd lost progress so many times that he just decided to leave me alone and stop talking, and it was unexpected.
