Scream Softly I have seen you drawing a line through the landscape A line of loved ones who destroy your language And when you were singing louder in your silence I was seeing tears run always flowing the wrong way But when the seasons wait for your return It'll be the wind that brings relief And if the earth is dark, and if the rain drowns you Tell me that we could tremble together And if the day doesn't come during the night of the lost Tell me, we could scream softly I wanted to calm your choking breath Races to the void, your sighing laughter If you set your course towards rough waters I'll be the lighthouse that will always guide you But when the seasons wait for your return It'll be the wind that brings relief And if the earth is dark, and if the rain drowns you Tell me that we could tremble together And if the day doesn't come during the night of the lost Tell me, we could scream softly I have seen you drawing a line through the landscape A line of loved ones who destroy your language And when you were singing louder in your silence I was seeing tears always flowing the wrong way And if the earth is dark, and if the rain drowns you Tell me, we could tremble together And if the day doesn't come during the night of the lost Tell me, we could scream softly And if the earth is dark, and if the rain drowns you Tell me, we could tremble together And if the day doesn't come during the night of the lost Tell me, we could scream softly

Thanks for this translation. I would have more translate it by "Sreaming Out Low" personally because "Screming Softly" would be "Crier Doucement" and we loose the wonderful meaning she targeted
@voloshanca2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the translation! These lyrics seem to be very complex. The question that won't leave me, however, is: is she singing them to herself? That's what her dance movements of holding her own hand and hugging herself were suggesting to me even before I knew the translation, but I thought I was imagining it! 😯 Now that I found out the translation it starts to actually seem likely. Or did she dedicate these lyrics to someone else? What's the backstory of the song?

I was fascinated by this song three times.. so far!! Once one I accidentally came by the acoustic version and that's when I discovered Coeur de Pirate for the first time.. I thought that was the original version and I listened to it everyday for quite a while.. Then I discovered this original version and I was fascinated all over again by the beat and the music in-between.. The third time was when I heard it by that Yadam guy in his audition for Nouvelle Star.. That was an amazing cover.. It's a really beautiful song... I don't know French but this song made me wish I knew it💙

Fui no show dela e gostei muito. Merci beaucoup Beatrice, Montreal, j'adore Ton musique, j' adore Montreal. Aurrvoui.
