What is a typical day like on the homestead? There is no typical day!
This is my Wednesday. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Some days it's all work and no play. Today we got to go explore after work!

I'm sharing an Amazon affiliate links (I earn a little if you buy anything from the links) with no change in price to you. buy the fuel locally and Walmart or any other outdoor retailer (much cheaper than amazon)
green works products that are great for offgrid homestead use. With solar you can use the sun to charge these over and over again! You can use the grid too. They are quiet and work really good.

Yes indeed! It's more for my wife though. I get the one side. She works from home but wanted to "go to work" and have a work specific background for meetings. It's working really good. I still can't believe how great the starlink mesh internet is working!

We had that conversation with the UPS driver and cleared several branches off our driveway. It's odd that UPS is So picky about their vans but Fed Ex doesn't seem to care.

Was that a ghost town? Id be afraid to hike like you guys...im terrified of running into snakes...the neighbor wears a gun to shoot copperheads...says there are a lot around here...I'm in Lawrence County Arkansas...moved here about 5 months ago from Montana...there was a ghost town near us in Montana that we could ride the quad to called Garnet Ghost Town...i want to get chickens for the ticks & chiggers but worry about snakes 😮

no it is the abandoned homestead www.onlyinyourstate.com/nature/arkansas/abandoned-homestead-can-reach-by-hiking-ar it's a really need little hike. There is a semi established trail and I did not see any snakes. I am packing just incase though. Yea we are bringing our chickens soon and home they eat up the chiggers! This trail is pretty nice and recommended! Wow from Montana to here! We wanted to move to Montana but it was too expensive.

Not to pry but why did you move here from Wisconsin? I commented earlier that I’m in a slow process of moving from Illinois to rural Baxter County. My reason for moving was taxes, the politics and the increasing crime. At age 70, but not “retired” from life, I needed a change. My wife’s parents moved here 30 yrs ago so we had that connection. It’s changed…..lots more people from all over the country. Seems like minded people are grouping together. Anyway, I enjoy your channel. Oh, as a kid in the 60’s we would vacation near Gordon, Wisconsin.

Lots of reasons. A good one was slower pace of life, lower cost (based on our lifestyle), politics, and also increasing crime. We love it here and don't want to change anything. We hardly leave the property (maybe once a week to explore and hike). Wisconsin is nothing like when I grew up there. It's so crowded and politically split 50/50 so there is always people disputing each other. Here in Arkansas It's just so down to earth when we have to go to town and people don't think we are crazy if we don't leave the property. We did not fit in the new Wisconsin. My area used to be really rural (county fair used to be country stuff and is now mostly just city folk drinking). I used to see more traffic in a day on my old road than I do out here in a month. Gordon is way up there! We were in Kenosha County, so very south. We wanted to move the driftless area (west) but prices are just so high statewide.

Well, thanks for your response. The first video of yours that I watched was about the security devices. I was especially interested in the driveway alarm. We do not have any neighbors. I was removing carpeting from the house I purchased and an older couple came to the door to welcome me to the area and brought me a homemade peach pie. They couldn’t believe I was changing all the locks and installing deadbolts. They said, “Why? There is no crime.” I replied, “none that you know of”. I’ll be glad when we are completely moved in. I’m getting a little stressed and I don’t stress easily. But, these are stressful times. Anyway, good luck with your channel. Just be yourself. I’ll keep watching..
