100% agree; every bad/annoying/un-fun fight I've ever had has been at least exacerbated by a judge who wasn't explaining why they were making the calls they did. I think there's another benefit too; explaining the actions lets the fencers correct you much more easily when you're wrong! If you tell them that red hit blue's head and both fencers tell you that no, red hit blue's arm, you can correct the score. If you just give red some points, neither will be certain why
