Coffee In The Snow Under A Tarp | Vintage Gear | SVEA 123 STOVE | 4K

On this snowy April day, I escape to the outskirts of town to enjoy some hot coffee brewed in an old enamel coffee pot on a vintage SVEA 123 Swedish camp stove. I really like older vintage camp gear and you will be seeing more of it in upcoming videos. My parents owned a small cabin in Moonridge, but they sold it eventually because of the upkeep. We then started taking trips up to Running Springs when it snowed ... I remember many ham sandwiches for lunch after playing in the snow. 👍🏼

Oh, and I owned a SVEA as well ... when I started snow camping and xc-skiing in college it was one of my first purchases, followed by. Camp 1 that I used all over the southern Sierra on overnight trips 🙂

Just thought I would mention, you are turning off the stove the wrong way, anti-clockwise just lets the pricker up to unblock the jet, clockwise is the correct way to shut it off, by stopping the fuel from coming out of the tank, otherwise you will get fuel leaking out of the jet, as you would only be blocking the jet (to a point) with the pricker. still enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing.

I could almost smell the coffee. :) I run my SVEA on akylat-gasoline. A clean petrol made for lawn mowers. The fumes are tolerable, and less unhealthy than car-gasoline.

I use white gas(Coleman fuel) works great 👍

Thank you for posting this video. I just found a Svea 123 at a local thrift store. Still had all its pieces. And to my surprise, it had fuel in it and when i got it home i had it lit within a couple of minutes and boiled my first cup of water with it. Ill definitely be taking it camping with me from now on.
