THAAAAAAANK YOUUUUUUU!!! I’ve just recently started learning AUSLAN & I watched a video on food & drink, but it was just basic tea, coffee, water, soda & then moved on. So I was wondering how I was going to find types of coffee so I can better communicate with deaf & hard of hearing customers when they come into work. BAM HERE IS MAGIC! Thank you so much for sharing this!!! You have made inclusion, accessibility & communicating with a whole section of community SO much easier!!! No my struggle will be remembering it when the customers I’m learning for are allowed to come back in - lockdown & travel distance limits has kept them away recently. So I decided to use some of my spare time learning Auslan, ive wanted to for so long, but I’ve been too scared it’s hard & I’ll mess up trying to communicate & it was all just too daunting thinking I’ll unintentionally upset or offend someone, but after watching a few different people’s videos to see if styles are different (some states do sign things slightly different so I might confuse states, hopefully that’s ok & still understandable…) I guess at least I’m trying & I can sign “I’m learning Auslan” & “sorry” so if I mess up I can apologise at least & potentially ask if there’s another way an individual would prefer to communicate. This is all far more info than you needed… especially since I was initially commenting to say THANK YOU & YOU ROCK!!

I understand from our Deaf teachers you just fingerspell S-O-Y. Short descriptive words like that can be the recognised 'sign' e.g. Z-O-O are fingerspelled.

Hi, did you know you can go to settings in the bottom right of the video and slow down or speed up the 'playback speed' of all videos?. If you choose 0.5 or 0.75 it's much easier to follow. Hope that helps.
