Coffee with Chips - a downstream diary: Destination Valsesia, Italy (part 1)

Follow our team paddler Chips (Andy Kettlewell) on his everlasting gap year, travelling with his kayaks in search of the best water levels, cleanest waves, and finest coffee. Join him as he shares his adventures and the stoke with you, our amazing community.
The first stop on his tour was to the Valsesia valley, nestled deep in the Italian Alps, renowned for some of the best creeking in Europe. Since Italy had such a great snow pack over winter and mixed weather over spring, it’s stretched out the Italian paddling season through to the end of June this year. Not only has Chips made the most of great water levels, but he’s also enjoyed some cheap but amazing local coffee and gelato.
