Xander is a beautiful young man. He has learned so much from his mom. As a couple, my husband and I have had two shepherds who were the apples of our eye. They are just amazing animal companions, bright, devoted, amazing watch dogs, just wonderful pets.

You 2 made the right decision. Jami went to her home town to be with her family. with the storms coming Lester stayed at home to tend to all the animals. So glad Jami was able to go see family❤😊. Its not easy to go on vacation with all the animals and 2 properties. I love the garage the way it's set up. So what if it looks like a barn Xander did a good job. Merry Christmas. If you have ever lived on a farm expecially if you have live stock you both do not leave at the same time. Animals have to be fed and watered even Christmas, new years, what ever holiday it may be.😮

That is so true. Mum used to take us as kids to the Gold Coast (Australia) for a week or two. Dad stayed behind to mind the farm. He was happy to be at home looking after the farm and animals.

Hah, our house is the first one on the west side of the street. Our 2 GSD'S are the self appointed guard dogs of the whole street. They will raise the alarm when any kind of delivery vehicle comes onto the street, and then again when they leave. They seem to hear when they are turning onto the street, and know what it is. They also know when hubby is coming home. They will hear his motorcycle at the corner of the main street to the west of us and the street that runs east and west and gives us access to our street. They will go and sit at the front door and whine until he comes in the house.

Lester, those fireworks on Morrow Hill sound like what we go through where I live every New Year, July 4th and Lunar New year and it lasts for hours. Sometimes it starts days ahead of time. It’s literally like a war zone. I’ve had military officers tell me that is worse than some war zones they’ve been in. It’s so very sad for our pets. I have to give my pup a Xanax and put her Thundershirt on her and spend hours holding her. So it’s really no joke. So many pets run off because they’re afraid. 😢😢😢

My husband was a hunter all his life as were his whole family. Our kids grew up eating venison, goose, Turkey, rabbit and grouse. My mother-in-law taught me how to coook all. It was an annual get together after Thanksgiving - the first day of all the cousins ( male & females) and uncles at the family farm (500 acres). We ladies had a get together roo. It was like a family reunion kvetching up with eevery one. This was before electronics and after. Personal communications are important in building relationships.

The fireworks used to be like that in our neighborhood. The one holiday when it was lesser was actually Independence Day. Add together our holidays and the holidays from their country, it was an all the time thing. Our animals are afraid now. We finally called police so much they posted an officer in the neighborhood who went around handing out citations. Now our neighborhood is fairly quiet. Either the revelers moved or got the hint. Oh, and the music! It was pretty bad. We live in an upscale neighborhood and it was slowly turning into a third world country. We have our neighborhood back now and it’s wonderful!
