If you can get new unused stainless steel mesh such as used for screen printing you can make your own filter that will never wear out and only requires being rinsed off after use. Might want to boil it a bit before first use to remove any contaminates.

Okay wow this actually helped. Finally! After spending the last hour going through ~15 coffee making videos, I'm going to stop at this one. I don't have any coffee equipment so the sieve method is something I now know about. Thank you!
@CreativelyBambi7 жыл бұрын
Hello Ayy Lmao! I'm so glad you found this video helpful! I used the sieve method for years until I upgraded to my beloved French Press. It works fine and makes delicious coffee. You can even let the grounds sit directly in the hot water (as you would with a French Press) and then strain with a sieve. When you use this method, you may have a few coffee grounds at the bottom of your coffee mug, but just avoid them by skipping that very last sip. Happy sipping!
@ayylmao2247 жыл бұрын
So here's what I did today. I ground my coffee beans using a mortar and pestle. I put the ground coffee into a thermos flask. I then poured hot water into the flask and put the lid over to let it steam for 5 minutes (kind of mimicking the french press). I then simply poured the contents of the flask through a sieve into my cup. I then poured the brewed coffee from the cup through the same sieve into another cup just to make full use of the ground coffee that was collected in the sieve. I've never tasted better coffee! So basically I mimicked the french press by letting it steam and then used the sieve method to strain out the ground coffee

This makes me want to freshly grind and brew coffee at home! Looking at the grinder is that "Krups" brand and if so do you like it?
@CreativelyBambi7 жыл бұрын
Hi Chantelly! I love your name! Yes, it is the Krups brand. It do love it, but the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a removable "cup" that the coffee grinds in, like my old one did. I don't remember the name of my old one, but it was great too! I recommend looking for one with the removeable cup, because then you don't have to turn the whole grinder upside down to get your grinds into the French press. Think about it like a crockpot with the removable piece that holds all the food. I had one once that wasn't removable and it drove me nuts trying to clean it with that cord and all. In another note... grinding your coffee fresh every morning is sooooo delicious! I love it. I can't imagine doing it any other way. And with the press? Dynamite! Happy sipping!

The way I do my coffee, is just have a decent duty paper towel, put coffee grounds in the center of the paper towel then I wrap up the coffee and twist the sides of the paper towel so no coffee grounds escape. Then I just steep the coffee. The longer I put in there and leave in the hot water the stronger my coffee gets. So then I can just choose how strong I want my coffee. The hotter the water the better the results and more extraction from the coffee grounds. I would put the hot water in a coffee cup I would be drinking out of. Extremely simple and super quick for me.

So I did the 'cowboy coffee' without straining bc it wouldn't flow thru my coffee filters & it is fantastic. Tastes better & the dregs/grounds stay at the bottom if u pour easily into ur cup. If any came into the cup most will stay in the bottom. Just leave the last sip or 2. Easy peasy. And all the caffeine withdrawal head/body aches I have had in the past for no reason- bc I ran out of filters!🤦🏻

How prone is it to have coffee grounds go through the mesh? You made it look easy. I'll try the strainer over measuring cup method before investing in a pour over carafe . thanks for the video .
@CreativelyBambi7 жыл бұрын
Hi Ty! Thanks for inquiring! My strainer works great, but you'll need to make sure your coffee is NOT finely ground, but definitely more coarsely-ground. Depending on the holes in your strainer, some grounds may sneak through, but in my experience, they settle at the bottom of the cup, so I'd just skip that final sip! Another tip: If you find the pour over method doesn't create a strong enough coffee, simply pour your hot water directly over the coffee grounds that are in a large cup (I use a glass measuring cup for this, because it has a pouring "spout"). Allow it to "steep" for about 5 minutes. Next, you'll place your strainer over your mug and strain/drain the "brewed" coffee in there. You'll love it! All that being said, I highly recommend a French press. Makes the best coffee ever in my opinion.... especially when you grind your coffee fresh every morning. Nothing compares! Cheers!

You don't need to push it all the way down. Just push the bottom of the plunger far enough to hold it in place and when you're ready to pour, it will strain the coffee. Also that way, if you pour slowly, you don't churn up the silt and you get a cleaner coffee. Enjoy!

Watching this because I bought coffee beans. Usually I buy powdered coffee. I blended the beans in a food blender.

If you have a dishwasher, the French press is a wonderful option for strong hot or iced coffee. Make sure to stir the grounds with a plastic or rubber utensil and let it sit for as long as you like. Then pour into your mug or over ice and enjoy one of the best cups of coffee in your life.

So that's how to use a French press! LOL. Your drip method with two pours is very smart!

Thank you so much for sharing! Love my coffee but looking for an alternative to Keurig, and since it’s just me drinking it, I don’t need a coffee maker - but this technique is awesome - thanks so much! Cheers!☕️

You are very welcome, Carolyn! FYI.. the bodum comes in all kinds of different sizes, so you can get one for just one cup. I have the 4 cup, which is perfect for my husband and me to have one giant mug each. Cheers back to you!

Hi Krishna! That's half and half... its very common to add to coffee here in the states. It's half cream, half milk. ☕

I wanna ask you something, i want to make latte art at home , i have seen many vids about this , i can use french press for the milk part , but what about the coffee? Like how to make that coffee mixture in which we pour the milk to make latte art? Please explain both methods , with and without any equipment. And can we use instant coffee? Like i have a pack of starbucks veranda blend , but usually i only have nescafe instant coffee.

I'm certainly not well versed in coffee art, but, I'd say to make your froth, add it to your cup of coffee, and then use a very slow pour of more coffee over that to begin experimenting. You can also dust with a stencil and hot chocolate powder mix. Good luck!

Could I combine hot water and coffee grounds in the Pyrex, leave for a few minutes then pour it into my mug over a strainer?
@CreativelyBambi2 жыл бұрын
You can definitely do it that way!
@sumitchakraborty24754 жыл бұрын
Where did you buy the stranger from ? I have one at home but that does not block the coffee grains to pass the strainer.
@CreativelyBambi4 жыл бұрын
I don't recall where I got it (I've had it for years), but I will say, it does leave some grounds in the bottom of my mug. I tend to just avoid that last sip.
