Four years into relearning French, I can honestly say that there is no better teacher of French grammar than Mark! I thought I'd mastered this rule awhile back until I heard a Frenchman say, "Au cœur des grandes villes" and had to research why it was "des" not "de." Mark is my "go-to" French teacher online, for sure!

Amazing! 30+ years of learning French and I never knew this rule existed. I’ve noticed it in action on posters just like that, but never understood why it was “de” instead of “des”. Thanks!

Have you ever considered adding "N" to the BAGS acronymn, as Numbers also precede nouns. Therefore we could have BANGS - which come in FRONT of a face that give us a visual element that may help additionally.

Sounds like a good idea. The only thing is that "bangs" doesn't really work in UK English because we use the word "fringe" instead. But definitely a good idea for US learners.

@@coffeebreaklanguages Ah, I do remember hearing that before, and perhaps BANGS would have a different connotation in UK English as well. Did my suggestion get a bit of a laugh over there? :)
