Kevin stole that game. Alan got greedy and immediately took the rook instead of pinning the knight with either rook, stopping the mate in 2. Alan had a huge advantage till he jumped the gun and took the free rook instead of stopping the mate threat first. After pinning the knight, Kevin will lose a boat load of material. if Kevin plays Kd2, then take the knight with the rook, leaving kevin with no counterplay.

Correction, I can't understand why they let their King stay under the pressure of a pin. I get the strategy and tactics that arise from Queen pins and other situations.
